Today I want to talk with you about the question which Powered Up/ LPF2.0 hardware is compatible with which hubs. The hardware we'll talk about has the following names:
-WeDo 2.0 (45300)
-Boost (17101 und 75253)
-Powered Up
-Control+
-SPIKE Prime (45678)

Hey, I cannot get the medium angular motors (88018) to work with the powered up small hub (88009), any ideas? I’ve tried using both the PoweredUp app, and Brick controller 2. The hub connects, but the motors do not respond.

Well, we all need to figure out what that BLE library is as one big group. The Robot Inventor and Spike Prime are the new Robotics Systems, and the EV3 won't be around for much longer, so we'll have to get comfortable with this and learn how to use these systems to our advantage.

The BLE library is uBluetooth. It is kind of documented. If that's what you mean.

Thank you so much for these compatibility guides. I recently purchased the 42140 tracked vehicle, and I have been doing all kinds of programming experiments with the Powered Up app and the Techic Hub and the two large motors which come with the kit. But I have been wondering what older sensors, motors, etc are compatible with the Technic Hub and the Powered Up app. Your guides are very helpful. ONE IMPORTANT THING is that I had to do a firmware update for the 88012 Technic Hub using the CONTROL+ app, before the Powered Up programming blocks would work properly. Especially the motor control blocks. Without the firmware update, the Technic Hub behaved erratically, often spinning the motors at full speed for no reason. With the firmware update, the motor control programming blocks work properly. Doing a firmware update in the Powered Up app by holding the green button down for 10 seconds did not help. Only the CONTROL+ app seems to give the correct firmware update. To do the firmware update, go into the CONTROL+ app and select your vehicle (42140 in my case). You will then be asked to do a firmware update. Powered Up version 3.7.0 and CONTROL+ version 1.7.2 (365). Cheers from Canada :-)

thanks for your videos, i want to ask you if it is possible to control this motor (Motor WeDo 2.0 Medium) with the bb0961c01 Electric Battery Box Powered Up Bluetooth Hub (technic 4 port).

It's possible but you have to tell the hub somehow to move the motor. One solution beeing the powered up app.

does the NXT color sensor work with the normal powered up hub? i want to control it through Brick automation project(BAP)

No. The plug is not compatible (and the protocol isn't either)

Is there any way to use the spike prime software with the technic 4 port powered up hub? This has the best interface and the python setup.

thx a lot. I found out some of the things myself. I find it very confusing........ . What i am trying to fugure out is the timing of teh blocks in the programming section of the powered up app. I get the idea that some motor control blocks e.g rotating xx degrees, take a lot of time to finish. So i want to know the execution time of each block in order tot estimate the executing time of a loop or a concurrent program. Thx for your effort, i learned a lot (also because of the total lack of documentation of our Lego friends) They seem to have forgotten the aim of technical Lego. Now it seems more: follow the instructions , insert batteries , open an app and press buttons......

There are some blocks where you can't give a precise timing. You want to turn for X degrees with the power of X but the actual power depends on the charge of the batteries. I think that you would have to write a timer to get an idea of how long the command takes (I think that you should be able to make such a timer with the PUP app).

@@technicmaster0tutorials Yes i am using a simple method: incrementing a variable in a loop and displaying that variable: so with one eye on my wall clock I get an idea: first result: simple motor control block is excuted about 10x/sec, a loop with updating speed dial on control display: 600x sec. So i will test this further. My first idea based on those results: make separate program-loops for motor control and human interface in order to prevent lag.

Wichtiger Beitrag, aber wenn inventor und spike nebeneinander liegen, check ich das nicht. Aber ich weiß jetzt, dass es ein IT-Studium braucht um diese Inkompatibiltäten zu begreifen. Ich glaube ich hätte mehr Struktur in der Darstellung er einzelnen Hubs gebraucht. Z.B. dass der Beitrag nur auf Lego-Lösungen eingeht und ganz am Schluss auf Erweiterungen hinweist wie andre Software. Danke für den Beitrag.

Das hier ist aber der Stand von Anfang des Jahres :D um Weihnachten rum werde ich ein Update dazu machen.
