this set was absolutely made for me! im a huge modular building fan, a huge fan of jazz and live music, and a pizza chef. this is my most hyped 2023 set so far!

The modulars are always divine. In particular I think the 'side building' here is a lot better than the Police Station's- the Pizzaria feels a good deal less cramped than that donut shop. That dark red that makes up the majority of the Jazz Club is fantaaaaastic.

Tempted, but that’s a very deep rabbit hole. I just admired them from a distance. You’re right the interior looks pretty sparse. That tailor shop could use a couple of dress forms and “unfinished “ torsos. ❤😂

I absolutely love this modular building! I have a little modular city on a shelf (featuring the Police Station, City Square, Bookshop and The Sanctum Sanctorum). I would love to get this set when it releases. I think it might be the best modular to date, however, I've run out of space on my shelf, so I won't be able to get it...

My first modular set (and oldest to this day) is the pet shop, which still puts me in awe that it's two COMPETELY SEPARATE buildings that you can swap the positions of. Without any prior modulars, it was still so fun to swap the location of them, and it still felt like a completely different layout. I love all of them so much... but the only other modular that's provided me a lot of fun with was the detective's office, which provided all the right ingredients for its own narrative, and I think is the modular with the best play value. I remember I wrote a whole short story in elementary school focused on the modulars that I had at the time! Anyways yeah I'm a sucker for modulars lmao

Just got the diner secondhand! This one is continuing the recent trend with modulars of using the colour options from friends sets. A whole building of light yellow!!!

I am loving this. The jazz club itself is nice, but the pizzeria is what catches my attention. The light yellow is beautiful and I really enjoy the pastel accents throughout it. While I enjoy the jazz club, I think the dark red is a bit polarizing. Still, one could say that it’s a good compliment to the other bright colors here. Overall, I am just very happy with how much each recent modular has offered. I think there is more consistency between them as well. My favorite still remains to be the Diner, with Grocer and Police Station close behind.

I do NOT have the money for modular sets but I will be tempted everyday at my work with this- if I ever do get it I guarantee I will have a tiny speaker playing jazz anytime I want to show it off lololol

Ive got every modular except for the first two, and this one is ABSOLUTELY a buy for me, im so excited! I think my favorite is the older Fire Brigade but lego's done a phenomenal job over the years with the series

I don't have a modular collection as I'm more interested in the smaller 2-story buildings Lego makes throughout their Friends and Creator 3-1 lines buuuut this is an exception. I love how colorful and vibrant this is compared to other modulars which try to be more realistic. I really want to buy this and the Jazz Quartet and display them on their own shelf.

Modulars have become a new favorite of mine! I picked up a few second hand from a young collector that had assembled them once and had them on display. I have the Detective's Office, the Parisian Restaurant, the Downtown Diner, and the Corner Garage from him. I recently added the Book Shop myself. I would love to add the Brick Bank and the Pet Shop, but would also definitely consider this one! I like the colors and that little greenhouse on the top is super fun!

Great video! I have sadly not gotten any modulars up to this point, but I have the sanctum sanctorum form this year which is in the same system, but its not really the same thing, love how detective office lookes though and would love to have that one. Completely unrelated but I got a minecraft set for the first time since 2015, I got the The Illager Raid. Love the set, all the figs and mobs except for the pig are new to me, and this set also gives me something to use to expand my display away from the plains. Love your videos!

I love the editing of this video 👍🏽 Anyway another great addition to the modular series. It’s hard to come after the boutique hotel, but I like the direction they took and it’s seems like it has a few cool little stories around it. Not so sure about the color scheme though

Looks nice, not sure if I'll get it. If my friend likes it we might split the cost and co-build like we do sometimes. In terms of the modular buildings, I only have the bookshop. It's fine, not too far from what I expected, though in my opinion there's not nearly enough shelves. Secondhand bookstores are my favorite and I just don't think they fully captured the vibe.

I absolutely love the downtown diner, it's my all time favorite! This new one feels a little bland exterior-wise, but I try to get each modular every year, and this is no exception.

I feel like the Diner is the one I'm least familiar with, but I hear a lot of good things about it! The shaping on it is wonderful.

@@CheeseyStudios yeah, especially now that it's retired, as a Las Vegas native and long time enthusiast of the style of the 50s though, I find the Elvis impersonator and jukebox diner to be fantastic. I will admit that the 2nd and third floor is rather dull visually, even though it had a lot of interesting snot techniques, the tan walls on nearly square rooms doesn't look very impressive. Apparently it's a rather divisive set, and I can see why others don't care for it, but if you can get a copy for a reasonable price, I'd highly recommend it.

@@CheeseyStudios I hadn't really considered that, but that's very likely a strong reason as to why. Even though most modulars have a European styling to them, most places in the world copy from Europe as well, although I'd actually love to see the modular line take inspiration from more cultures style of architecture. Obviously the Ninjago city and new years gardens did that, but there are more places than just Europe, Asia, and North America!

I really want to like this but I just can't. The hotel and police station were so architecturally clear and bold, whereas this just looks like someones MOC Infill. I feel like so much more could have been made of the jazz club aspect, instead it's just a small stage shoved in a corner, it seems the designers were not confident in the theme because they also put a magician in here for some unknown reason. I thought, oh at least we will get some cool "magic" play feature, but no its just a lonely lost minifig.

I really don't understand why this set is getting so much hate. I'm seeing people compare this to 2012 era modulars but I just don't see it, at all. I mean maybe they could've sacrificed 1-2 studs of sidewalk to get some more space for the interior, but I don't think it would've been entirely necessary. It just looks like a great edition to the series and will fit in nicely alongside the other modular buildings.

I love this set except for the blue color at the bottom of the jazz club. It’s subjective, but I think it looks awful. Luckily, it’s Lego so I can just switch it out! Great video.

I don't own any modulars and nor do I plan to get any. This one, though, is a particular letdown. It looks really plain on both the inside and outside, and it doesn't feature any brand new genius architectural technique that we've come to expect from these sets (primarily thinking about the otherwise always creative edges of the rooftops). The detective's office was a real standout for me. It featured many bits, bobs, nooks and crannies and was the first and only one I've almost seriously considering buying.

I will say that I was a bit disappointed we didn't get the usually crazy parts usage for the roof I've come to expect.
