I remember getting this set for Christmas like 8 years ago along with a few other power miners sets. This one was one of my favorites. My favorite thing to do was to load the orange bucket full of TNT and drop the TNT In the hopper and make it hit rock monsters.

Those Power Miners sets were quite unique, you don't see sets like these anymore, unless you count the City Miners line that are similar. Very cool retro review!

The power miners were my favorite lego series as a little little kid. I got both this one and the titanium command rig for my 7th and 8th birthday. I also had the one car thing with saws on it because it had another one of The dudes with the great play feature. I had almost all those sets. I was only missing the one moveable rock guy he was almost like a bionicle which at the time I wasn't interested in. All of the sets have since been torn apart for parts for other mocs unfortunately. This was my dream set at the time...it was in a multi-pack along with the Granite Grinder and the Claw Digger, and it was for a decent price...shame I didn't get it.

If you are like me and you miss power miners and want the theme to return, don't worry, I've noticed a pattern; Rock Raiders, 1999, was the original power miners and then 10 years later in 2009 they bring it back as power miners. So hopefully if this pattern is intentional, they will be making a new power miners theme next year in 2019!

Hey Jang, the dude on the far right was Duke. The guy on the far left was L.Ava Suit. Yes, that is his name. I looked him up on Lego.com when this theme was still running. The middle guy was just a miner. There are only two versions of Duke: this one and the really dirty one.

I think it’s supposed to go into a bigger truck down the chute. There would be no point in it going back into the radio controlled one as that’s the one which has just picked it all up to start with!

Hey Jang, my knowledge of powerminers isn't the greatest, but you said the set came with two versions of Duke in it, yet I thought the set stated it came with two engineers and a figure of Rex, and that duke was the character who had the solid gray beard instead of stubble.

Yeah, nothing worse than missing pieces, honestly the first three sets I bought were PotC sets from very expierenced sellers but each one had at least two pieces missing, so I stopped buying pre-owned and now I only buy sealed sets. It means I can’t afford too buy as many sets as I would if I was buying pre-owned but I rather the piece of mind!

KMDspaceE Yeah, I think in most cases buying pre owned is okay as long as the seller states if it is incomplete. If I was to buy an incomplete set then I would look to see how much more those individual pieces would cost me. If it works out cheaper then buying sealed then I probably would do that. Though I can see why people buy sealed. As for the most part I would buy sealed but as long as the price is reasonable.

That is indeed a very neat main action feature. The bucket action really is surprisingly smooth. I noticed one of the Duke figures has a cracked arm. Was that the chest piece you had to replace? If not, are broken pieces a common problem buying pre-owned sets as well? Or is it normally just missing pieces? Keep up the great videos. Love these older set reviews.
