Reminds me of when i jokingly used a cardboard piece with sawblade printing on it (came with a ryobi saw to show how the actual sawblade should sit) against a piece of wood and it actually cut into it about 8mm. Never underestimate the cutting power of non-metalic objects, all they need is the RPM and they can do some damage.

I saw someone attempt breaking the sound barrier using a dozen lego motors made to spin faster by gearing, if you do the gearing tactic with THIS motor, i think it could work
@thetoasterisonfire208021 күн бұрын
I would actually choose to gear down the motor, its got plenty of speed but is lacking in the tourqe department. If they also used a sensored outrunner type motor instead of inrunner along with a programable ESC it would solve the lack of tourqe.
@Metal-Sonic20 күн бұрын
@thetoasterisonfire2080 yeah you could increase the torque but lower the speed and then do the other way around so it becomes a sweet spot in the middle, or vice-versa

FYI gloves (and other articles of clothing) can actually be a safety issue with rotary stuff. They can get snagged and pulled in in an instant much like that plastic was, except your hand is in there. The result is really nasty crushing and mangling. It's often safer overall to just accept the risk of getting cut. Now whether the stuff you're doing is powerful enough to really cause problems I can't personally say, but it's something to be aware of.

No. When lowering the blade, the blade needs to fight more friction after cutting the material. The blade should be mounted a little higher, to reduce friction between the blade and the material already cut.
