I see the interceptor in the wings but the body has the expanded flat shape of Darth Vader's TIE Advanced. I get it but I don't like it at all. Maybe something like the body from Vader's TIE fitted with properly proportioned Interceptor wings would look good.

I love this set!!! The ship is really well built and it has an awesome look to it. My favorite ships in star wars were and always will be the TIE Fighters, and for the sake of that my favorite minifig is also the Special Forces TIE Pilot! But all the minifigs are great, and when I will have the opportunity to buy it, I will! Nice review Jang, and TIE Fighters rule!

Back here after the ship appeared on the new trailer! I just absolutely adore this ship, it's so slick and detailed. For some reason it just feels much more menacing and bigger in person. Even though I have the Saturn V which is over twice the size of this, the Tie Silencer just somehow looks more impressive

It's so fun to see Lego play it safe (which is understandable) given the many vehicles for the first wave of Star Wars sets prior to the movie's release. Then we see a secondary wave after the set's release which take place on more of a scene or ground-base (ex, battle at takodana). Curious to see what will come next.. I feel okay with this set, I don't particularly love this set nor many of the other ship-releases but I like it. I think I'm still leaning on the buildable BB-8..

Fantastic lego set. Far better than it looks on the box and also a good time now to buy it...Its getting retired and is frequently being sold at a knockdown price. The thing about Force Awakens/ Last Jedi/ Rogue One/ Solo sets is that while the sets are not as iconic as the original series or the prequels the build quality of them is massively superb. You can really see that with the remakes of the Rebel A-wing and Y-wing. I am so looking forward to getting my new Rebel X-wing set in a few days time

Like Jang, its really hard for me to stay objective about this. I really like the design of the older TIE Interceptors and Defenders, and also thaught about getting one of those in Lego form. Now that I see this, I really get some hype for the upcoming movie. It takes so much inspiration from the original Trilogy and adds Kylo Rens theme to it, as the windscreen really resembles the one his Command Shuttle had (well, sadly not in Lego form). The included Kylo Ren fig also looks very good in my opinion and the inclusion of Darth Ball makes this set perfect for me. In conclusion, this is defenitly my favourite set of this wave.

All jedi/sith ships still have basic systems (sometimes with Astromechs) to handle things. Even if theoretically they could manage everything, some things are still better left to the droids/systems to monitor (like diagnostics or communcation, or navigating) while they focused on the more important things, such as piloting

The type of saber Kilo uses has the crystal purposely broken/ damaged to have the side saved parts. This explains the why the saber is not sleek like the others, but rigged and electric looking. If you want more information there are videos explaining it called "Star Wars to 10 unique light sabers" his saber is at 3:27

To answer the question pertaining to the excess blade energy, Jang, There's nothing to fix. Kylo's first lightsaber featured two vents through which the excess energy could be discharged as a result of using a damaged focusing crysta during its construction. Also, I did go back and freeze-frame the duel against Rey, and I don't see the part where Kylo's saber hits the ground still activated. So if he did recover an undamaged hilt, he may have slightly altered its appearance but kept the side vents, or the hilt from TFA was destroyed and he built a new one but kept the design with the side vents, which gives us the lightsiber Lego Kylo is holding in this set. Just my speculations.

Yeah blade hits blade, Kylo's goes down, most (but not all) of the main blade goes through the snow, all 3 outlets are still lit and in the intact configuration, then go out together after leaving his hand, several frames after Rey's blade has fully passed. Damaged focusing crystal is damaged. Damage (causing unwanted malfunction) is what could have been fixed or replaced if he did an overhaul of the thing.

Beagle.in.red The majority of sets based on designs that are new for movies like Star Wars are usually based on early concept art. There are many examples where the sets released before the movie like this were not accurate to the in film model. Such as kylo rens command shuttle, the first order walker. You can always expect that at least one set in the first wave of sets released on a new movie with new model designs can end up being inaccurate.

Martin Almanza yeah and we even see that Finn is a stormtrooper! He’s not a clone, so the movies are now explicitly telling us that real people are used as stormtroopers, and yet LEGO still uses the angry clone face. I honestly wish they would use the heads they used to where it looked like a person wearing a black balaclava. That way the troops would still have a face, but from the sides around the helmet it would still look good.
