Almost 25k subs. Congrats! Good to see this channel moving up in the world Since you mentioned that the yellow 4-wheeler could pull 4 times it's weight that does beg the question, which of your vehicles is the most efficient (how much weight it can pull compared to its standalone weight) because in raw pulling power the big tank is always gonna win but with the inclusion of how much the vehicle itself weighs the little vehicles could have a chance Also idk why but I find it so funny that to stabilize the vehicles you put a brick in the scoop bit and on the roof rack
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey there thank you so much! If this was a competition as such I would have done that as like you say it’s an even playing field then! The 42099 really surprised me, mostly that the drivetrain didn’t just break as with that gearing it has serious torque! In the end the drivetrain strength beat the motors power which I wouldn’t have thought possible! I did laugh to myself too when I put it on the 6x6, adding more weight to pull more put it made the front wheels effective! The digger less so lol 😀

@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey I may think about it, I was impressed with the torque it had. The issue for me is I buy my sets second and the last Liebherr set I bought for £175 with 4000 plus pieces whilst the Merc cost £275. Also I’m unsure how the views will be? Maybe worth a gamble! I didn’t use a trolley purely because I wouldn’t have enough weight as there wouldn’t be any real friction. This could pull several people on a trolley with ease😀 And thank you so much!😀

Yeah it struggled but it did lose on the carpet against the 6x6 in pure strength. It just had better grip on the slippy surfaces. What also helped was the string was pulling the tyres down giving them a lot of grip allowing it to use all its power. I'd be interested to see a strain meter in the tracks somehow to see what the tension is. Might be more than the weight of the bricks! just imagine those tiny hooks that link the track segments - all quietly getting on with their work, and the driveshafts becoming drills! very impressive model Gaz. Just for fun I made a walker push 2kg, was very slow but hardly any slip. Lego is amazing. Keep making videos, they are always fun to watch 👍🍺
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey Carl have you got a video I’ll take a look! I’m still amazed by that other Walker you made! I originally thought the beams across the tracks took a lot of the strain off but the more I think about it I’ve put more strain on certain sections but they definitely help when turning. I’ve yet to check the axle onto the reduction hub but those hubs help so much! If there’s no twisting I’ll be impressed! I can’t actually believe the motors stopped without any known breakage as it’s a serious amount of torque there. The great thing is I can add more motors to my next big build… Appreciate it as always and will check your vids out I’ve had a break from looking at videos.😀🍺

@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines my friends @DIYWalkers and @MaxBrick have made some amazing machines, mine are a bit crude and heavy duty in comparison.. however I think mine are slower, but stronger. Got a feeling a walker could be built that has MORE traction than wheels, and maybe equal to tracks. It's all about point contact, my crappy walker weighs about half kilo and pushes 2kg... that's without being designed to do it. Wade could make something way better maybe, and Max is a madman so who knows! I admit you are king of tracks 😀👍🍺. Dunno why, I've never got into tracked vehicles, maybe I'm rebelling against my father still. But I love your projects. Perhaps I will design a purpose built puller. Wish you lived closer, it would be awesome to meet up for a chat and a beer and compare notes. This is the big shame about modern life , we can talk here, but so far apart geographically. I think I'd like to help design stuff for you, but it would be a challenge to have a competition!!! 👍🍺

Yeah it would be great Carl! Especially to test your RC cars against some models!(it really intrigues me even though I know the inevitable will happen I’d still like to see!) At first I didn’t think a Walker would have the strength but after seeing your model my mind was swung! It just looked so sturdy and the power was relentless! I’d like to see how they would fair pulling as the one issue is the weight is being pulled back and you could have an issue like that weird 4x4 I made with the swerve steer. Whilst when pushing the legs will have so much traction as they almost get trapped and something will give😀

@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey no all is well it just didn’t have the power! The surprising thing for me was the drivetrain didn’t break before the power stopped if you know what I mean! The Lego reduction hubs which I have on all 4 corners are so strong😀

do the big bulldozer with 8x buggy motors
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
I wish I had some! 😀 But these L motors are so good! Also I can use 4 on one hub without losing power whilst I think you can only use two buggy motors on one hub before you lose some.

@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines Cool!. Will you test the buwizz stuff?
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Probably not yet as I’m trying to stick to standard lego for the time being but I’m sure one day I will! I’d like to make a fast off-road Dakar rally type vehicle and I doubt it’s possible with the heavier powered up battery packs. The thing I like most about the buwizz is the weight of those batteries which rarely gets mentioned, it helps as much as the added power! 😀

Well, I am about to go make a vehicle to pull more than 67 pounds. Wish me luck, I’ll need it.
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Hey good luck lol. At around 20KG the tray just dug into the carpet real bad! With a different set up it could do a lot more but I will keep this as the standard for my models now. I’m hoping to pull a car soon but with wheels it has to be so flat and it’s hard to find a flat road where I am!!!
@jjlane91913 жыл бұрын
@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines I’ve made sled pull trucks and sled pull tractors before, my problem was anything over 20 pounds I would just break axles.
@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines3 жыл бұрын
Oh right great. Have you got the new reduction hubs? It’s the only way this thing can put down the power. I checked the axles and there’s no twisting which I was impressed about. The hubs are not cheap but I bought a few cheap second hand 42099 sets and you could sell parts back if you didn’t want the set(for a profit even) 😀
@jjlane91913 жыл бұрын
@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines no I do not have those hubs I will have to look into that.

Dude it's not fair for the big bulldozer, you should lower it's gearing, 15 to 1 could be enough to pull more than 50 kg
