Good stuff, a nice improvement from your old trophy truck model. It seems with RC cars of this size, rubber band suspension is the way to go. Good work!
@excrubulent3 жыл бұрын
I'm genuinely shocked at how plush it is, given there are no dampers of any kind, and the suspension on the real thing is usually so complicated with multiple bypasses and reservoirs etc. I wonder how long was spent tuning the number & stretch of the bands?
@redshoebox3 жыл бұрын
@@excrubulentUsually as long as the rubber bands are tight enough to hold the vehicle but not too tight that they will never stretch, the performance of them is quite responsive and functional when operating.

its not %100 pure lego it uses rubber bands and moddified parts as long as a fake lego motors and battery
@VestedUTuber2 жыл бұрын
@@fishbrix3809 LEGO had produced multiple sets that utilized rubber bands. As for the motor, it's a direct recreation of a discontinued element, faulting that falls under gatekeeping.

what about the ratio? front tires are turning slower than rear... have I missed smt?
@pz1402893 жыл бұрын
@@adriablancafort I dont want to be rude, but I think Umut Topuz's comment is correct: the front axle has 12:20 ratio (0.6) and the rear axle has 20:28 (~0.7). I know the difference is not huge but still looks like the rear is spinning faster. I am not saying it is bad, and actually this may be beneficial for drifting, just like real world F Focus RS, if you know what I mean :)
@cliffcampbell88273 жыл бұрын
@@adriablancafort Different gear ratios have a tendency to place unnecessary strain on the drive train. From the motor to the tires, you will have parts under stress when the vehicle is in motion (and shorter run times with a full battery as opposed to equal ratios). If you are running on a low traction surface, there isn't much to worry about but rolling that thing on concrete or pavement for too long and parts are going to start breaking (I'd think the gear teeth would be the first to go). Try this, take the motor out and gently push it across a high traction surface for a few feet. Pay close attention to the wheels and listen for a clicking noise. If you see the wheels skip and bounce a little and/or hear that noise, something is binding up somewhere and needs your attention. Your off roaded is an awesome build but the differential gearing should be matched up.

How is the durability compared to a normal RC truck? It seems like if the suspension is working, it can deal with the shocks with normal driving, but I don’t think you can bash it. Still, this is an amazing build and I will buy this in a heartbeat if Lego sell this.
