1:52 I had 6271 the Imperial Flagship, bought with my own money when I was six years old. It was expensive and the biggest Lego set I ever had. I must’ve build it a thousand times.

I still have them all. Bought with my own money. Most when I was 31… 🙃 Had the Black Seas Barracuda shipped from England, so I could have shooting cannons. It took a month, I guess it sailed across the ocean. 😂

I grew up with the Baracuda, Caribbean clipper ship, and Eldorado, those were some of the most played with sets I ever had and the fortress and baracuda are the only ones I have still put together on display!

I wish Lego would still continue the Lego Pirates, all Lego does is overpriced sets that are just Lego city. And the boxes have been getting very big. Why? Because Lego does not care about children saving up, all they want is money.

LEGO drifted away from its original concept - making affordable toy sets for children. I am an AFOL, so I can afford the collector price range of today. But I wish I would not have to.

Too many of the same sets surely the small ones . The price back then in the 80's and 90's it was very cheap compared to the later sets from 2005 to onwards . I miss the pirates, space and castle/knights series thats what real kids wants to have as sets not licenced ones from Marvel/DC/Avatar/Star Wars which isn't affordable for many families from around the world .

Yes the license add to the price but Lego cost as much as it should if you look at the price of none licensed sets and there is lots of discounted sets.When I was a kid I did build my own Star Wars sets later on they came with complete pieces and in my opinion ruined some of the creativity.Btw. I didn’t mind small sets that was most of the time what I could afford and it was good way on building up Lego prices for custom build and have extra minfigs.
