Yeah I have this roll too and it's amazing with the new warlock lightning surge too. I use karnstein armlets with heavy handed so I can just spam healing lightning surges and have permanent golden tricorn x2

You sir, are a SAINT!! I've always knew how great golden tricorn has been but it's great to see someone finally showcase how good it really is. Before I watch the rest of this video I just want to give a shout-out to my favorite golden tricorn weapons, in order!! 1.Unforgiven - demo/GT 2.Retraced Path - subsistence/GT 3.Midhas Reckoning - Field Prep/GT 4. Red Herring Tracking/GT. Honestly I would reroll my Red Herring if I needed one. But my crafted Ambitious Assassin/Lasting Impression Red Herring is a consistent good roll since LI+Impact Casing is a 21% buff without having to kill anything. Which means I can have two 21% dmg buff rockets on standby. And at any point I can tag on an extra 50% from High Energy Fire+Font of Might. And easily add Volitale for even more dmg. The ease of use is very ideal with my roll. It's not a DPS roll. It's a high health champion DESTROYER.

That was an amazingly clear and interesting guide. Bravo. Best Golden tricorn video ever. Personally, I have my beloved Voidlock equipped with an Unforgiven demo/GT. Using a well built, it is so much fun to use. Just need to get first the kill with the weapon as you say, which kind of feels weird as I usely like to start a fight with a grenade. But once GT2 is active, and there is enough ENY to kill, it is just pure pleasure, chaining weapon kills and nade kills, with devour active on top of that.

I was using a golden tricorn Jurassic Green with Athrys' Embrace a few weeks ago, and when you have x2 active with radiant (easy to get with the weighted aimbot knife), you hit 43 to the head. Insane!!

I’ve been using this since it came out. It’s the most OP perk in the game by far in both PVE and PvP. I first started to use it because I realized I could keep one god roll for both PVP/PVE on my Shayuras. The fact that it does 1.5 Rampage level damage for x2 time off a single kill would honestly be good enough… but when you match your sub class, and get an ability kill… It’s so amazing. It’s old kill clip or maxed multi kill clip dmg for x2 the time but it refreshes which is usually easy because by the third kill, you are almost always amplified or radiant or have devour or volitile or some sort of enhancement depending on the class that makes getting ability kills even easier. I’m a titan main, but my Shayuras with perp motion, tricorn and 80 range on a invis falcon hunter that gets killclip after invis is just unstoppable… also, I started using the one hit kill nade warlock exotics like con traverse and verity’s brow where you charge your grenade and release it. It gives you devour, tricorn x2 and volitile rounds…but the king is still falcon hunter by far. Go invis to flank a team in which you have 10 whole seconds to maneuver around, decloack and melt first target in .5 seconds at 28 meters to activate tricorn that now kills in .65ish (secs or better yet .8 with 50% body hits) throw smoke and vortex nade in group of enemies which weakens, or makes them volatile while being sucked in to the vortex add one or two bullets and they almost always die of an effect, which instantly makes you invisible, faster, have wall hacks and activates 50% damage (tricorn) + volitile rounds (30% explosive bullets) or free invis decloack dmg (30%) and kills in .5 with only 20% headshot accuracy or better yet it kills at 30 meters in .6 seconds…. If you hit the new jackpot, you get golden tricorn x2 with volitile with them weakened by smoke or nades and the decloack exotic perk that all stack and you kill people before their Dodge animations or barrier, animation or rift animation starts to activate. Also, every bullet that is now shot primes enemies for volatile rounds which explode so if you were in a chokepoint or a spawn, there are explosions everywhere, everyone is weakend and slow from smoke or nades pulling them and once you aim at them they die. The closest thing I can compare it to, is when Prometheus Lense was bugged and had a .4 TTK. Or momentum control in a empowering rift or with kill clip. It kills so fast. There is no counter, but the true OP thing… I didn’t even count, high energy, fire, font of might, devour healing you on all kills etc… it’s the sheer amount of damage mods, all working in the normal flow of combat to the point where you always have a kill clip level damage, perk, and with a top-tier weapon like Shayuras that has 720 auto rifle 180 hc range and is balanced by .8 TTK or 1 sec TTK with body shots any dmg increase moves it from middle of the road TTK to top of the food chain and extends its range a ton. But once you give it tricorn x2 or 30% or even tricorn x1 with weakening from a nade or a smoke, it’s basically a 30 meter kill zone but each kill heals and reprocs the death zone. You can do the same exact thing with yesteryear that goes from .93 Ttk to .6 from tricornx1. Tricorn x2 means .6 TTK with half your shots hitting the body while shooting from the hip. It turns at 390 into a battler where all you need to do is land, one crisp head shot, burst the scope and clean the kill up with a hip fire. I haven’t used it as much on arc, but I finally got my grave robber, tricorn and demolitionist tricorn SMG and with striker titan I’m thinking about running Perigen grieves to get x2 tricorn or HOIL storm grenades. Hell I was thinking about running dual pulse grenades so when the storm grenades get NERFED, I can simply spam to grenades to jolt the enemy twice. The solar wave frame with tricorn pairs Great with my ashen wakes in PVE, launch a wave grenade, then throw a grenade immediately after, and you have tricorn x2 and with the proper build your superfusion grenade as well. If you had grenade wellmaker, you now have font of might 25%+50% and as long as you kill yellow bars or multiple reds, you get your throwing grenade back instantly and keep golden tricorn up the entire time… I didn’t even mention the mini hammer, which is probably the easiest way.

Totally with you on just the first part of the perk being enough, then it just goes crazy with x2. Well, it's time for us to say goodbye to the Gyrfalcons builds for a bit. They just announced no more PvP damage with them. That's okay, it was crazy strong.

Another excellent breakdown vid from the Fusion King! Keep em coming, Lego! I typically stay away from Tricorn weapons because of the level 2 requirement, but one weapon that I truly love the kill loop on is the Unforgiven SMG from Duality. Mine has Demolitionist/GT, and on my Void Warlock build it's an absolute PvE beast of a weapon. My void grenade kills grant volatile rounds, so when I get GT level 2 activated from my grenade, it also reloads and I get my nade back faster from Demo. The synergy on that weapon makes GT really shine, and I feel that is what the perk was designed for in concept.

I love tricorn. As soon as it dropped on a bow, I happened to be using stasis in my hunter. You know, on the moon, burning through bounties.. I double checked this bow, took it off triple checked it, re-equipped it and it just so happened to vibe with my build like nothing else. Such a great Luniata. No distractions is kinda wack to me but I haven't taken the bow off since. It's a mainstay. Imagine tricorn and osmosis? That would be crazy as hell.

My issue with tricorn is that if I’m spamming abilities, I want empowered abilities not an empowered weapon. So something like demo/pugilist/grave robber/adrenaline junkie would be preferable for me. Now if you roll both golden tricorn AND demo on something now we’re really talking….

Great video. A thought I had watching this: Level 2 activates on *ability* kills, and as far as I've tested, Arc Souls activate everything else that activate on Ability Kills. Given the buffs and the constant nature of Arc Soul damage, that seems like a really nice way to have a backup activation criteria for the perk. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for Golden Tricorn on my Arc weapons in particular (assuming that interaction works, which I'll have to test).

Yeah I've been thinking about this since I launched the video as well. The thing that made me hesitate was that it doesn't proc Adrenaline Junkie, but this is ANY ability kill... At the same time, most supers didn't work, so I'm not sure. We'll have to test it.

I just crafted my Subsistence / Golden Tricorn Retraced Path and the thing is an absolute melt machine in PVP. It is very easy to get to X2 with hunter throwing knives and grenades. Very fun build and I'm happy to have an all around melt machine in my arsenal. Probably never letting it go!

Here's something you should consider that ramps Golden Tricorn into insanity (only for warlock tho). If you have verities brow, you get a damage bonus on all your grenades after killing a void weapon kill. If you stack this with ech of underminding and magnetic grenades, you get 1 shot sticky nades for 10 seconds after getting a void weapon kill. This works PERFECTLY will golden tricorn because you get a void weapon kill for the level 1, then verities brow sets up an easy peasy 1 shot magnetic grenade to get you up to level 2. Additionally you get free grenade energy every void weapon kill. Also your teamates get nearly their entire grenade back when you throw your buffed up magnetic grenade. Its truely insane.

I got an adept Inquisitor that has Assault mag, Demo, and Golden tricorn, got to say it fits perfectly with my Arc Titan. Tons of Storm grenades combined with a hard hitting slug shotty that gives grenade energy destroys all enemies, even in high level content. Inquisitor procs the timer for Lightening strikes twice, just another reason why I love the shotgun. (Since It's an adept weapon I can slot adept big ones on so any tanky enemy takes even more damage)

If you were lucky enough during the dawning, you could also have gotten a Stay Frosty (stasis pulse) which could also roll with Golden Tricorn (which I was able to snag!)

Hey, Lego! If you want to find more ammo in PVP, the arc mod "Swift Charge" can help you out. The secondary perk on it makes it so that defeating combatants with a pulse grants a chance to drop special ammo. This ammo brick actually gives you THREE shots to your special instead of the usual one if you get it to proc.

I have an Unforgiven with demolitionist and golden tricorn that made me a believer. I use it with Nezerics sin, volatile rounds, font of might, and devour. It’s super fun for low-level pve content add clear.

Really interesting and well rounded guide... You definitely changed my mind about this perk, the only downside (of this perk) I see is that it doesn't have a great weapon poll option... Almost all weapons it can come with are B tier... But it is interesting that it's basically a "rampage perfected" with extra steps and functionalities of course. Anyway, great guide.

Further more, the seasonal ritual pulse rifle come with golden tricorn and repulser brace, making it a very ideal primary slot with decent DPS potential on any void (especially gyrfalcon) builds

Assassins cowl/matador is a dps monster. Loop…kill with shottie, punch for x2, dodge, punch, restart loop. In pve 😳

Super helpful, have several weapons with tricorn but never used it. I kept them during some vault cleaning and this video helped me make some decisions . Have to try out my killing wind+Tricorn retraced path and tunnel vision+tricorn Jurassic green to start. Pairing with Titan Solar with the melee hammer will be great!! Appreciate the info!!

I'm a melee-centric Arc Hunter... I checked my vault: Midha's Reckoning with Golden Tricorn and Well-Rounded; Matador 64 (Arc, not Void) with Tricorn and Tunnel Vision :D I also found a Retraced Path with Tricorn and Perpetual Motion. Not bad.

Heard good things about the Matador (I know I got the element wrong), but you should definitely try that one out since you're on the Arc Hunter. Could work out really well. Midha's if you need more range on what you're doing.

I happened to get blessed with a godroll Unforgiven with Demo + Golden tricorne and its probably my favorite legendary weapon. Its practically all i use on voidwalker with feed the void, volatile rounds together with font of might + High energy fire gained through elemental ordnance. Its amazing getting a primary to outperform your heavy, if just for a little while.

Bro, same. First unforgiven to drop had chambered/fluted, armor piercing/ricochet, demo, golden with reload mw, was love at first sight and with a contraverse hold build it is so hella fun to run! Even nezarecs sin or the brow helmet been fun! Been running with vortex nades but seen a build just going over magnetic nades to get OG handheld supernova with echo of undermining? to weaken enemys and all that grenade energy back on hit/kill with well mods and devour to help!

It is addicting!! No need to use either special or heavy ammo when you got everything going! I’ve got the trials shotty and out of bounds with demo+golden as well so been thinking about doing a arc build as well. A titan with heart of inmost light and those storm nades but devour lock is to fun to put down!

I have Overflow/Golden Tricorn on a Summoner. It's awesome in pvp. Walking over a special brick auto loads your magazine and doubles the ammo in the magazine. Bullet hose.

For most weapons you are trading out mobbing potential for this damage buff. Like riptide in pvp sounds good but in pve you want that chill clip especially come light fall where that slow and freeze will stun champions. Forbearance with ambitious assassin and chain reaction sweeps rooms, dropping chain reaction and it is a normal wave frame shot albeit it will take a chunk off a yellow bar now but that wasn't what it was used for. It does have good options like Veles-X and Unforgiven being absolute pve beasts. Solar only really has retraced path which will be a great companion for double special builds but those fall apart if they don't have champ mods. Arc has wendigo but also rolled on wendigo is explosive light which does the same 50% but with zero hassle and does not require this to be your main gun. Inquisitor is the only great option due to slugs still being a menace in all content but you will run into the same problems as retraced path. At least the downside of having poor champion mod access for end game will be fixed by abilities in lightfall making the special weapons much more useful.

one of my first drops in WQ was a likely suspect with golden tricorn and it just shredded the legendary campaign. Been in love with the perk ever since, I keep meaning to try it with burning steps but ive been a consecration/syntho guy all season so far.

I see someone already mentioned transversive steps for overcoming the reload issue, but I’d like to also bring up Rain of Fire and a build idea to go with. Riptide w/ lead from gold or Arbalest Explosive Personality w/ golden tricorn A heavy linear fusion rifle (Cataclysmic or Sleeper Simulant pairing well with solar) Fragment: Ember of Empyrean Use Riptide or LFR to proc radiant, swap to Explosive Personality, and get golden tricorn x2. Reload with icarus dash (heat rises for better effect), and maintain radiant/tricorn through explosive personality kills or ability kills. Anyways, fantastic video as always! Hope more people realize the potential of this perk through this video!

Thank ya! The only reason I don't go for rain of fire much is due to the need to get an ability kill anyways with Golden Tricorn. That usually makes me radiant, so rain of fire can feel a bit like a waste. I like where you're heads at though!

Oh. This is a fantastic tip and makes a lot of sense... I'm going to have to revisit Arc Buddies too, because I kind of just assumed they wouldn't work due to Adrenaline not working, but if it counts it as an "element" it doesn't matter. Dang, that would be awesome!

Try to take a look at Shatterdive + GT Riptide + HEF + FoM in PvE. Literally heavy weapon DPS. Lets you run the Cold steel Zephyr for add clear too for extra fun

While I still don’t like the idea of being limited to a subclass just to get the other half of a perk, this was really convincing at giving me 2nd thoughts. See I’ve just done duality solo and Forbearance was a super helpful tool in getting past the 2nd encounter. So today I got one to level 30 to put enhanced unrelenting and chain reaction. And since I do 2nd encounter on arc for speed, I was this close to switching the roll to ambitious assassin and tricorn. If I didn’t main a spongy warlock I would do it. Likewise. The perk pool for likely suspect is pretty lacklustre. I have one I take into everything PvE sporting perpetual motion and wellspring. I’m immediately changing wellspring to tricorn because it’s so much more practical now you’ve broken it down. I have a fantastic void build that has my abilities up in seconds in content all the way up to Master. So why not make the switch to tricorn and get some use out of he weapon too. I’m not gonna talk about PvP usage because I’m too bad a fighting real people to keep anything running. So I lean into perks that give me static and constant benefits instead of perks that require kills to be fed.
