Dude! This is fantastic! This must've been so hard to do! This is such a great video, man thanks again! That Leica is very impressive! But very surprised how good this copy of the Panasonic 25 prime really is! There must be some copy variations because the one that I got was SO BAD! It MADE me spend a little more for the Olympus 25mm 1.8! Even down to the sunstars on the 25mm, the copy i had looked NOTHING like this one! Very well defined on your copy!

Good video. I always change lenses upside down to preven dust from falling inside the camera.

I usually do too but I wanted to do it on camera and the angle was a little weird

Excellent idea, Rhett, a relevant comparison. What would be even spicier one, is to compare the 10-25mm at 25mm with the 25-50mm at 25mm! Be the first one to do it :) I have Leica 25mm f1.4 and Olympus 25mm f1.8 and both are disappointing. Maybe I have a bad copy, or no affinity with this focal length in the first place. I’ll have to try them both in a controlled test environment to come up with a definite judgement.

@@Emerald_City_ haha I think I’ll have to and I know the perfect time to do it. I was also not super impressed by the aging Leica 25mm and haven’t tried the Olympus but I was rather impressed by the Lumix 25mm for how cheap it was. The Leica 10-25 remains one of the sharpest lenses for the system even including most primes. Really just outstanding in every way

I compared the 25mm to the 14-42 mm and at 25mm and 5.6 I found the kit lens slightly better, Basically in broad day light, outside, if you do landscape, the 25 is not that useful. But of course, as soon as you get inside, or in low light, the kit lens is done, Thanks for that video.

I'm trying to find a comparison between the 10-25 and the 25/1.4(either version), which seems like something people would compare, but I'm having trouble finding anything.

If I’d used the Leica 25mm I’d definitely do that! Alas never had the chance

@RhettThompsonFilm I just picked up the 25/1.4 mk2 and the 9/1.7. The zoom is equal to the 9mm at the wide end(aside from the difference in focal length). At 25mm, I feel the zoom might actually be a touch sharper wide open at 1.7 than the prime is at 1.4, but I forgot to test them at other apertures before I sold the 10-25.

This video is already amazing lmao 🤣 I absolutely love my 25mm 1.7 prime. It lives on our gimble we use and it's a joy to use. I wanna finally upgrade that lense to possibly the 25-50mm 1.7 for basically $1500. Steep price, but something I wanna try (as long as the autofocus kicks ass like the 25mm 1.7 does)

I’ve got a review on the 25-50 coming out soon! Maybe that’ll help you out! I find the af to be very very solid

Hi Rhett, For me, I believe that the purchase of the 10-25 is important, although I also have the 25mm. The problem is that I rarely use the 25mm, because since it doesn't have a zoom, it's a slow one that I use only for interviews and when I have to do a quick b-roll of details (I use it in my camera for 10 minutes and I return it to put in the backpack). Every time I am more convinced to acquire the 10-25. Very good comparison...

It was just fun! Especially for the crowd that claims primes are always better than zooms. Clearly there is more to a lens and the quality it produces than prime vs zoom

Can't you set the wire focusing to linear so that it won't ramp up in speed?

No the lumix. But only on the GH5MKII

I think the size difference is the main draw for me. I couldn’t carry the big lens all day.

If you have one lens leica 10-25 you don't need leica 9mm, leica 15mm and leica 25 mm. Just one lens for all the time. But if you use gimbal and all day make a lot of shots with gimbal easy to use fixed lenses because at the end of the day the hands will not stand from fatigue
@RhettThompsonFilm Жыл бұрын
Even with the 10-25 the gimbal isn’t too bad but the primes are waaaaaay lighter

Please try the Olympus 25.. f1.2 (borrow, rent / steal) just to see how amazing it is. I nearly got the 10~25 which is great.. I also tried the Panasonic 25 1.4.. But for a lot less than a canon FF prime, or Lumox 10~25 the Oly 25 1.2 is under-rated. I seem to have discovered the Oly 25 f1.2 by accident (friend's lens which I borrowed). It blew away Canon 'R' 50mm FF . I know a lot of it is personal ptrf.. but I'd like you to do a comparison indoors and out. People need to know how Dumb Olympus is with their lack of marketing, yet the product is second to none.

Do you mean the Canon 50mm RF 1.8 ? The price is not the same ... Or the RF 50mm f1.2 ? The RF 1.2 is outstanding.

You wanna send me yours for review?! Truly is one of the coolest sets of lenses for the system and I considered them three out of five of the video centric lenses for MFT, along with the 10-25 and 25-50

If i needed a good 25 i probably would buy a 1.4 leica. I own the lumix 25 mm and i am not very happy with it. The image is so much worse than my olympus pro lense and my 15mm leica 1.7 and the af is also worse. if i would buy the 10-25 i would buy it for the 10mm while replacing several primes.

how can you compare expensive, quality glass, build, LEICA .. with crappy lens ? not cause both lenses then its ok to compare .. they are not even close .. go make useful vides better making just dummm ones ... gezzzzzz
