For many projects it is necessary to measure the space as a 3D model in order to achieve the greatest possible flexibility when working with the data in a CAD system. Very often you have to connect different rooms.
We will explain in this video the Measure 3D function of the Leica DISTO™ Plan App and how to do this from multiple locations with the relocation option.
Relocation feature is supported by DISTO™ S910, DISTO X3 and X4 on a DST 360 and X6 on DST 360-X.

I have recently bought the set (X6 and 360-X) and I am quite happy with it. Still I wonder, if some of these functions could be integrated in the near future: - adding written information / predefined tags to the points (“tree”, “stone”, “corner”) - setting a predefined offset in z-axis (when working in landscapes with a leveled “stick”) - removing the need of always adding 3 secure points to the existing ones (sometimes 4 points would be enough in total) Dear Leica, please do it right this time! It could become a great tool (instead of a nice toy) in future. Best!

With the bluetooth csn you transfer the camera picture of the disto to the tablet ? So that you have a larger picture on what you are focusing, especiallty when working outside. Thanks.

Hello. I am using Leica disto s910. Is Disto x6 better in terms of sensitivity or are both devices the same in terms of sensitivity? If the X6 uses more precise measurements, I may prefer it.

Dear Customer, as far as the accuracy is concerned, both devices achieve the same 1.0 mm accuracy (depending on the conditions). The similar accuracy is also achieved when using the P2P measurements. In this regard, both devices are comparable. DISTO X6 has the advantage when it comes to the storage (1 000 DFX points instead of 30), functions (brand new Point-to-Line function) and the operability (faster star-up time etc.).

Measuring from multiple locations: Is this a Software upgrade in the App or a Hardware only on this Disto X6 ? I have the X4 and the S910 , can this be done on those devices ??

Relocation is a new feature in the DISTO Plan App and is therefore compatible with all DISTOs that are P2P-ready: X3 and X4 with DST 360 adapter, X6 with DST 360-X adapter and S910.

Yes, the Relocation works with all P2P-ready devices, that is X3, X4, S910 and the new X6. DISTO X6 with the DST 360-X adapter will replace the current S910 in our offer as the top-end device.

I have the leica disto x4 with the dst360 and i seem to have a problem with the relocation. I can set the first 3 secure points but i can't add more, so i would like to know if there is any tutorial showing how I can add more secure points and is there any limit to secure points i can have in my project. Hi, please follow the link below where you will find all the manuals and instructions for the DISTO Plan app and its functions. There is no upper limit to the total number of secure points when performing a relocation. When working in the Disto transfer plugin, the image from the s910 rangefinder is saved to a folder on your computer. And where is this image stored when working with the DISTO Plan application? Thank you.

When using the DISTO Plan app, the images are not transferred. This is only possible when using DISTO transfer.

I struggle with p2p relocations with my S910 set, when I use the „measure plan“ function. Is it possible, that the relocation is working only at 3D measurements? (Measure plan is projecting all points to 2D). When I move to the next Position, leveling successfully, relocating the three points, the device always says „relocation Not accurate“ or „out of tolerance“. Thanks for answering

We apologize for the difficulties you are having with the relocation. The relocation feature is available for Measure 3D, Measure Facade and also for Measure Plan and should therefore work. Make sure you use targets for secure points so that the accuracy of the second set of measurements is as high as possible.

I'm in process to buy a new Disto but I'm not sure which one is better between Disto X6 and Disto s910, can someone advise me accordingly ?

Hi, both devices allow to measure P2P (3D geometries) and save date on the device itself. The S910 has this so called P2P technology integrated, the X6 would need a DST 360-X adapter in addition. So finally we would recommend anyway P2P-packages in order to use that feature. If you are not interested in P2P the X6 might be the sufficient solution.

Did someone at Leica forget to enable tablet compatibility for the 3.1.0 version of DISTO Plan? I own the full version, using with E7500i, X4 and S910; yet unable to use the latest features on a tablet running Android 12L.

Located in the U.S. I also have a HUAWEI SHT-W09, but it's on Android 8 so probably unsupported...still runs a previous version of DISTO Plan though. I was able to install DISTO Plan 3.1.0 on a Samsung A53 5G phone, so the app is definitely available.

Dear Leica team, is it possible to do more than one relocation with 3 different secure points. Or is it always necessary to target the first 3 ones?

@Topomarket, the relocation can be carried out with any 3 secure points. Assuming you have 6 secure points, you can target any of these 6 points for the relocation and thus combine the secure points of the first and second relocation. It is also possible to use the same group of secure points for multiple relocations.

@@Topomarket there is no limit on number of relocations you can perform. At the same time, you can relocate your set-up independently on the first room. If you want to measure the rooms one after the other, you can of course do so.

Dear Leica Team, I was working today on site with the X6/ 360-X. When working with the Leica Disto App, the export functions provides very rudimentary DXF/DWG data, in which measured points are displayed as a drawn “X” (two intersecting line segments). This is extremely illegible for working with many measuring points and feels like CAD data from the 1980s. Additionally, no written information is being added, no images are being saved. In contrast, the data that is created within the device without the app is displayed very clearly. Even a CSV list is created, which is very useful for surveying work. Unfortunately, the relocation function is missing when working without the device only (without the app). So you have to decide every time before you start to measure: rudimentary files with with relocation OR a good data basis without relocation. Please, dear Leica team - invest some time into the app. It could become a powerful for architects! Thank you!
