Hi, thanks for this video! By the way, what's the difference between your targets and others ont he ground please?

thank you very much for this tutorial.. is it possible to select a point in the point cloud and transform it into a target in order to associate it with coordinates?
@davidprangnell12413 жыл бұрын
You can, it's called a virtual target. It's done in a similar way as selecting the black and white target

Hello David, Very helpful. I'm new to Cyclone 360. I noticed you only have a max of 2 targets, minimum of 1 from multiple set ups. I was under the impression you needed a max of 3 targets from each scan to register multiple scan worlds together, is that correct? Also, is this the correct procedure to register the scans with state plane coords to ensure the final bundle is geospatially correct? My apologies for the long questions. Regards

For scan world to scan world registration if you are doing a "targeted" registration they need to share 3 but with the 360 you can register without targets using the visual alignment and the scanners built in VIS system that links scan positions during the scanning process. Using targets as Control to move the bundle to a predefined grid you don't need that many. Registration of scan worlds and Control are two different functions that both may use targets.

Hello, thank you for this clear explanation, i've tried but its not working maybe because i have tried with only 5 virtual targets ? is there a minimum number of targets to use ? thank so much !

What about target heights? My 3D coordinate is on the nail head at ground level. Maybe the height has to be added to the elevation before import? I have paper field notes with the heights.
@davidprangnell12413 жыл бұрын
Hi David. That’s correct, you have to adjust the elevation value of the observed control point to reflect the height of the target.

HI. Why there is no link between first and last scan setup? Wouldn't it be better to adjusment whole measurement?

The control function of the old version was very simple. The new version (current) makes it more complicated. Control now has three import options :/ maybe someone at Leica could do a video on it? Thanks

Very helpful! A few quick questions. 1. Does Register360 support spherical targets? If so do they need to be a specific size? 2. Is there any benefit for surveying the actual scan location when using the P16 scanner? 3. Silly question, but I will assume that exterior targets over control points are always turned to face the scanner at its current location be scanned? 4. How are targets on interior walls use differently in the software compared to exterior targets over control points? . These may seem like silly questions, but I am new to Register360 and terrestrial scanning. I bought a used P16 and Register360 license

1. It has an option to detect spherical targets on import. I haven’t personally used it, we use black & white paddle targets. 2. When operating the P50 we set it up on control and back sight just like a total station, it is helpful. 3. Yes 4.it just detects the target, there is no difference. It knows nothing except there is a target there. Cyclone, weird as it is, is a little easier to use in this process, there is no need to go into every scan to add a point name and target heights can be added.

We just acquired an RTC360 which is different and a lot lighter and faster. We can use either Register360 or Cyclone Register. The first project I used Register360 to optimize the cloud alignments then imported into Cyclone to auto add more cloud constraints, add TargetIDs and TargetHTs, and register to control. That was 34 scans. Current project is 91 scans with 10 CPs so may try this instead.

When I do the Registration, many Targets are generated automatically (+200), and I only need 5 of which I have the Coordinates, this generates an error when importing the .txt file, is there any solution?

Has anyone had the error "not enough correspondences" ? Everything in our project looks just like yours but we are getting this error.
