I think the customer was trying to replace the LCD after some damage and probably pulled on the LCD ribbon cable without releasing the latch on the connector causing the connector to rip off the PCB. I have replaced screens for few laser measure devices myself before. Nice job Alex!

i have worked in construction & with laser levels' they are made very-very sturdy against impact damage , all i can say is how this got damaged to the point of knocking off a ribbon strip holder & pads must have been a hell of a knock maybe by a excavator bucket swing , solid repair 👍

Mate, you are the king of PCBS. The amount of variation you have is insane. You fix the problem and teach us too. I have an educational plumbing and heating channel to help the younger generation learn a trade. I will most definitely share it with them because you can give them a great opportunity in life. Do you realise that? I know you get paid for your videos, but you don't do it for that because no one gets paid straight away. It takes time. We often start just to try and help people and explain what we do. Transparency. I'm just appreciating your work mate and although we haven't met, I like you and your style. Thank you

I had the same issue on a Volvo EC480E excavators smart screen. Because of the constent vidration and shaking it broke off. So knowing that info.🤔🤔 I prep the pins and pads first. 💡💡Than decided using a 4 minute epoxy to lock the connector down from underneath to the board second. Than I solder the pin connections. Check for continuity. Passed❕❕Than I epoxy both side ends to the board and the whole back side pins and all. Plus over the back top half making it one solid mass. Retested continuity again from the front pins . Passed ❕❕👀👀It was an ordeal 4 sure.😰😰That aint going no where❕❕🖐slapped it!

Lawyers hate when their clients use social media. I suspect that video being taken down means alex has consulted one.
@navexelac2
@navexelac2 Жыл бұрын
Video is actually private. Alex probably did it because it's dealing with a court case. Lawyers could be telling him to keep details private and not disclose details of the case on social media. I commonly hear stories of individuals in court cases chat about their cases on social media and get in deep trouble/scolded while in court.

What is the deal with the customers not sending the complete device, so that you can test it properly? 🤔 Actually, then they will have to pay the full repair fee anyhow, unless you find something catastrophically wrong that cannot be repaired, while if they send the whole device, they will only pay for a full repair, if you can test the device to actually work after the repair attempt. Good for you, but a little frustrating not to be able to test if the repair was successful I would guess(?) - do you sometimes get feedback if those repairs on single boards, were successful or not?
