I just got the SL2 about three months ago but this is my main work camera and I feel a little more secure with it staying at the studio. I am in need for a second body and I am seriously thinking about the original SL typ 601 for my EDC photography. I absolutely love the SL2 and I want to use my current lenses with a second body so I probably go for a used one at around 1200usd. I think it would be an awesome EDC for me even after almost 10 years of it's release. I would love of course a M system for my EDC needs but the price difference is huge and the SL type 601 is looking like a great choice now. I didn't feel attracted to the SL system at first but I absolutely love it now.

I am still using the the OG SL typ 601. Can't beat the colors from this camera. I am waiting for the next Leica SL with phase detection though.

Absolutely. I love these files from the SL. Phase detection would be a welcomed feature for me as well.

It has face detect but not PHASE detect. It only uses kontrast detect. The Lumix S5II has phase detect now. Just waiting for Leica to implement this on the new SL.

Still working on that. I’ve only had the SL for a short time and haven’t had much low light work yet.

Are you using a GoPro for the POV on this and what color lut or processing are you using to get the video to look similar to the way the photos look? It all looks fantastic!

Thank you Josh. So the pov footage is with a GoPro hero 10 Black and the images are edited using my Leica Presets for Lightroom. Specifically the SL preset I created. The GoPro footage is straight outta camera without any LUT apprised.

@@JoeDAgostinoPhoto Amazing colors from the Go Pro with far more true colors of the sky compared to the result you get from your editing of the SL files. With Leica I fond the skies to be not real looking. There is always a warm tint in it that isn't real. It's pleasing but not real. This makes me still hesitate to get a SL for the fun to use with my SL Lenses when I'm not willing to have a better AF...

how many shots with battery you can do?

Not sure yet. I had the camera on the entire time and shot DNG/Jpeg for a total of about 511 shots and had about 1/2 battery left. Plus the 3 short videos.
