... but you didn`t talk about the button display on the S1-R, what`s available and if it is any good

Check my channel Carlos. I made a video dedicated to the S1R buttons settings…

This was interesting but I was waiting for the comparison on the S1R and it never came 🥶

I’m sorry about the delay but just to let you know I lost my job and I start my photographic activity as a professional at 100% of my time and I don’t have time enough to concentrate on videos for now… I need to earn money first… But let’s say it short, S1R and SL2 are equal in terms of image quality since I have calibrated both with the Xrite 24color patch chart, the images are really similar

Interesting Didier, but what I’d really like to see as someone invested in the 24mp L Mount system, is a direct head to head between the two 47mp monsters in regard to image quality. Stills only. I have S1H and 2x S5 and trying to decide between the ‘budget’ S1R and the SL2 for my ‘50’mp hi res needs. Or is that comparison coming soon…? 😬
@DidierMOULINPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Hello that’s the most important point to be compared I totally agree and I keep it for the end 😉🤣 Thanks a lot for your interest I appreciate a lot. Regarding your need it depends if you use Leica SL lenses or others. The color science of each is different. The M lenses work better on the SL2 I will make a video for this topic be sure !

@@DidierMOULINPhotography I have considered Leica lenses, but being a solo hybrid wedding shooter, I need AF (so R and M lenses are out) plus modern Leica lenses are just a little beyond my €’s! So I am a Sigma i series lens shooter mainly with the 35mm f2 and 65mm f2 being my primary stills photography lenses and the 28-70mm f2.8 and 45mm f2.8 being my main video lenses. I also have a couple of Panasonic zooms, the 20-60 and 24-105, but don’t really use them at weddings. I am VERY interested to see a direct head to head image quality (stills) comparison of the SL2 with the S1R with the same lens and settings, ie, everything is equal except the sensor. I would do this test myself if it was only possible to rent an SL2 and an S1R here in France! Maybe in Paris, but here in SW France, it seems impossible. A colleague has an S1R that I could borrow, but getting hold of an SL2 is more of a problem. But if you have the time Didier… 🙏👍😬

@@firehorseweddingphotograph3995 those AF are so complicated now that it happens that I have better results with my M8 manual focusing on the eye than with the SL2 and the 90mm Summicron SL ! Are you French based in SW of France near Bordeaux ?

@@Mowikan I have the battery grip on the S1R and it makes it so big and heavy. Not sure if I want the SL2 to be so heavy.
