They are too big for birdwatching. And too heavy. Better: Noctivid.

@@rolf5914 no sir they are lighter then my 10x42 BA trins 2000 model.. After using these for the time I have I would put these at the very top .. Yes I used Noctivids excellent binz. These 8x50 are really something optically my opinion the best..

Very informative videos so thank you. You didn't say how much they cost? I'm currently looking to buy a pair of premium glasses so these videos are perfectly timed. It's a choice at the moment between either these or Swarovski.

Thank you for watching. The price of these binoculars is €2,169.00 (VAT included).

The Swarovski 10 x 50 EL is clearly better; i have it

@@rolf5914 I'm not so sure. I respect Swarovski as a brand and recognise those 10s you mention as amongst the very best. For me though Leica is tops for colour rendition and lack of chromatic abberations.

@@peterkin1010 Leica has too little eye relief (only 15 mm). Swarovski 20 mm ( better if you wearing glasses as I do)

I agree, for such a premium binocular, the field bag, or case, feels flimsy and cheap. Just compare the standard case, with the case manufactured by Aneas of France. That case costs a cool extra £250, and was made for the 2017 Safari edition Ultravids. I know Leica are out to make money, but when your paying a premium price for these stunning binoculars, you would have expected a premium case as well I own the 7x42 HD+ versions, and that's my only complaint. The case is more suited to a pair of budget binoculars costing a few hundred, not something costing thousands.

The field bags doesn't matter for me

I guess most people will use aftermarket strap systems anyways so the bag doesnt matter that much.

Is it made in Germany (?)
@weissachpassion3 жыл бұрын
yes :) All Ultravids and Noctovids are made in Germany
I think the bag looks REALLY cheap. It should be a leather case.

They have too much Chromatic Abberation for this binoculair price level.

What is interesting is that the previous Leica 10x50 BA has almost no chromatic aberration. I don't like it..and I use a Questar spotting scope which has none and a large Cassegrain which is free of it. I like birding and astronomy both and find the 10x50 works for me.
