This was Leif Garrett's first song he ever recorded. Didn't make a hit with it but it suited the young lad. I love the song and that cutie.

The 70's was an awesome time. A much better environment for kids to grow up in, then today. It was safer then too. No gang violence, as there is today.The length of the hair today, is a product of what we started back in the 70's. Like it or not, it is what it is!!

You had to be around at the time (1970's) to fully appreciate his look back then.

You had to be around at the time (1970's) to fully appreciate his sound. That song was his first single in 1977 and it did not even chart. Poor Leif Garrett he always gets it every time.
@markharrison25446 жыл бұрын
It's hardly surprising as it was his first ever song.
@anonymous-ci2vu6 жыл бұрын
You're right. It isn't surprising according to conventional standards. He was just a "one hit wonder" according to these same conventional standards and so you won't find him in any karaoke book. If it would have been me I'd have probably given up after the song didn't chart.
@markharrison25445 жыл бұрын
@@anonymous-ci2vu "Feel the Need" was also a hit, and several other songs made the charts. You don't give up after one setback, and he had already signed a five album contract with Atlantic Records in the autumn of 1976.

@@markharrison2544 Don't give up after one setback? I agree. Again, if it would have been me I would have given up. In fact, I would give up if I only could. "One Hit Wonder?" No performer ever truly rises above the one hit wonder standard. It is the fate of every performer to rise and fall someday. It's not about who's great and who's not, it is about what you are into and what you do. The prerequisite is that you evolve musically over time. I freaked out at first over the "image" thing and how image is everything, what I then learned is that image must be balanced against the real you in a state of equilibrium. I wouldn't want to sing out of a karaoke book anyway, because, if you think you have something new then that is not what karaoke is for. And plus, I don't go to bars and clubs anymore anyway. Hope that makes sense!

It was style in the 70´s. Teen boys had a girlie haircut at that time.
@zibbyzubb15 жыл бұрын
Ummmmm. That hair is back in style. Have you seen boys today? They are wearing it exaclty like that now. It was a popular style then and it has come back. This was a good record by the way. Didn't chart though and he wouldn't hit until he signed to Atlantic. This should have been included as a bonus track on his hits CD.
