Hi Gerard, I dearly miss the green, green grass of home. Here in California, we are dealing with ongoing intense heat compounded by very bad air quality from numerous constant wild fires all over the state. All this and the country has gone insane! These wonderful videos are a blessing! ☘️💚

Nice sleepy little village
@elizabethohalloran2005 ай бұрын
An idyllic, authentic, Irish village! Many other places have become generic, glitzy tourist areas…not my cup of tea! The arched stone bridge, the beautiful river Barrow, majestic swans, and the famous Mr Tyndall. In all your travels Don, I’ll bet nothing comes close to this.☘️💚

It was lovely Elizabeth. I was pleasantly surprised. Delighted you liked it. 👍😊🇮🇪💙🇺🇸

I looked up Tyndall. He's famous for many things including an explanation about why the sky is blue! The colour is named Tyndall Blue after him 😊

BTW it's pronounced Lock-Lin Bridge. It's hard to believe but up to late 70's early 80's that little stone bridge over Leighlinbridge was on the main road to Dublin, and all cars HGV's coaches etc had to pass over that bridge before the town was bypassed in the early 80s, the traffic was terrible it was just so dangerous to walk over then. It's a shame you also missed the Plaque to Myles Keogh who was from Leighlinbridge, he was a famous Union Army Officer who fought in Antietam, Gettysberg, and other battles in the American Civil War. Also of note is that the Grand National and Cheltenham Gold Cup Winners are often paraded in the village, and at The Lord Bagenal Hotel as the famous Mullins's racing families all train near there in Co Carlow.
