Honestly I think it was because her music was turned too much toward the EDM/pop arena. I remember when Gossip Girl was still big and I was very into in and her, her big release was a song she did with Robin Thicke, and it was just so...clubby and bland? Her voice is so wonderful and unique, but I feel like when she had that moment of a huge platform to start her music career off on, what they ended up producing was way too generic and soulless and didn’t really play to her strengths. Hope she continues making music in the future though!
