In short, no they didn't. Remember, back then video games were a niche, kid's hobby. A lot of the animators weren't of the generation that played games. Not unlike now, where the kids who grew up watching Captain N, are now in the industry kicking ass.

Not only is he KZbin gaming's king of cherry picked evidence (though Pewdiepie is "Challenger Appears" on that lately), but I've seen a few episodes where he referenced previous episodes, and flat admitted he made shit up to see who'd believe him. This isn't even touching episodes like his Zelda Moon theory, or his real Mega Man villain theory, both of which he was not only smug about what he was doing, but when people who are both smarter and more honest than him took him to task in the comment, his oh-so-intelligent reply was "I'm more popular, that makes me right!". He's a fucking joke. I only watch him when I feel like shit about my own slap-ass theory work. I always come out knowing I'm at least better than he is. Then I get depressed that he's somehow famous for being such an arrogant fuckwit.

You want to know what was a much better version of this? The Subspace emissary from Super smash bros brawl. It had a better story, on-the-spot designs, and better bad guys. Oh yeah, and there's no product placement or annoying protagonist. I vote it should've been it's own animated series with some actual dialogue and well-handled fight scenes. They could've done it, they had voices for characters like Sonic, Samus, Snake, Pit, Marth, and Ike. It certainly would've kicked this shit to the curb.

OMG, they really screwed up the characters here. 1. Mega Man has a blue suit, not a green suit. 2. Simon Belmount is manly bounty hunter, not a Narcissist. (I haven't even played any of the Castlevania series and I know that.) 3. They have almost no real references to the video games the characters are from. Such is the reality of video game show of the late 80's/early 90's, they're really bad. I think that new Pac-Man show has more effort put into it than this show did.

Simon Belmont isn't a bounty hunter, he's a vampire hunter. Other than that though I agree, this show is terrible. With the awful designs and making every character an asshole, it perplexes me why I still see comments from people saying it's a great show. I even saw a bullshit "top ten reasons Captain N is a masterpiece" list. How could anyone call this piece of trash a masterpiece!? The characters are unlikable and not even close to their original counterpart, the art and animation is downright ugly most of the time, and the story is bad even by Saturday morning cartoon standards. If anyone knows what these people see in this show, I want to know.

After seeing that green thingie coming from TV and that dog who jumps into tv, I got somewhat flashback to my childhood remembering the intro to the show, I never saw the show, but I definetily remeber the intro. It was one of the coolest things I saw in my life (before it hided to the corner of my brain), maybe because that was every kids dream, getting sucked into TV and become a cartoon character yourself. I pity anyone who grew up with this show. I can understand why shows like Sonic and Adventures of Sonic may have a nostalgia fan base, but this--- show, there's just no redeeming qualities to, period. Captain N is the ultimate mockery and kick in the nuts to all Nintendo fans. It took all the cool and awesome video game franchises and raped them in the ass with a sand paper condom until they started bleeding and screamed for mercy, after which the sand paper condom just got switch out with a chainsaw condom. The animation is atrocious, the character re-designs are a joke, and the choice of voices are laughable. I remember stumbling on this show a couple years ago, when I read that Pit stared in a cartoon. I then followed a link, and I was scared for life. I then went on to look at MegaMan's design, believing it couldn't be worse than Pit's......I wanted to sit down in a corner and cry.

PikaLink91 I did grow up with this show. At first, it annoyed me but it always came on between both showings of Super Mario Bros 3 so we always had to sit through it. I had no idea what this show was trying to do at the time. But it was via this show I learned about Castlevania, Megaman, Kid Icarus, Metroid, Zelda, and Donkey Kong. This was during a time frame when these game franchises weren't yet well known. It became nostalgic after awhile, but it's still very silly.

My favorite episode was the paperboy episode. The one that showed Saturday morning cartoons can get away with having minorities in a heroesque role, so long as they are also exploited for every stereotype imaginable. This was also the tropish "very special episode" that was so popular. The real world important moral? Reading turns you into a zombie.

There was actually a mini comic book series that ran too, and though I'm not sure about little mac I know Samus was in some of those. She actually replaced Simon for the ones she was in. And Dracula showed up in quite a few episodes of the tv series too.

So I just looked it up.... Samus appears in the COMIC series, but not the cartoon. I stumbled across this info while reading the wiki, which also was privy to this sad bit of info: "Samus was likely written into the comic to fill the gap left by the various third-party characters who didn't appear. She never appeared in the show because Jeffrey Scott "never heard of her," despite her archenemy being the show's main villain."

yknow i just noticed. this simon is actually accurate. hear me out in Lore, simon was so full of himself riding off his grandfather's coattails that he was incredibly reckless. yes he killed drac, but in doing so he cursed himself. hence why in Castlevania 2 he rebuilds dracula and kills him again. thankfully at this point he learned from his mistakes and raised his kid well.
