I was just messing around on the computer when I got the idéa that Giacchinos song might fit to this scene. I found it funny how weirdly the music fit the scene, the pace of the song sort of matched the emotions. The rythm of the song also matched how the camera changed between the different characters. I don't say this score is better than the original one, I am just saying that it sounds/ look like it was made for this scene.
Btw. Some people comment that the dialogue is to quiet. The soundtrack that contains the dialogue also have some background music, so in order to prevent a mashup of music I had to turn down that soundtrack as much as I could.
Song: Michael Giacchino " Moving On"

It sure is sad. But I think frodo is a character that's all about the journey. About carrying the burden. Once the journey ends- frodo has no part, and he still suffers because he's just been through too much. As he says, some things time cannot mend. some pains go too deep, that have taken hold. Letting him go is good for him, and he deserves this relief. Sam, on the other hand, was never really about the journey. He was there to give, and support, and protect. And that's why he still has so much to love and to do and to be. He'll be a lover, a husband, a father, a gardener. And I also think these are all characters inside tolkien and inside each one of us. Once the journey ends- our inner Aragorn should become the king he is supposed to be. Our inner frodo must leave, and we must let him go. And our inner Sam is now the author of our book, for chapters of love, family, work, parenthood. The greatest adventure of all.

I was just 5 years old when this movie came out and I saw it. I'm 22 now. Having read the books and seen all the movies, I can't help but be taken aback. I wish I could live in middle earth. I would love to go back to the Shire and just live there for the rest of my life. LOTR was the very first book series I ever read. Its inspired me to this day and it will keep inspiring me to the end of my days. Thank you Tolkien and thank you Peter for making such wonderful movies that almost entirely stuck to the story.

It's a prefect bittersweet ending for Frodo. He saved his home, the Shire, and now everyone he loves can enjoy and relish it. He cannot, it is more than his necessity to leave, the ring corrupted the Shire for him. Once you have held the ring, it is what you desire, and once you have lost it, you yearn for it again. Frodo has lost the ability to appreciate the little things in life, and that is at the soul of what being a Hobbit is.

At the time of the movies, I did not understand the meaning of this end. But after reading the books and especially the Silmarillion, I think we could not find such a perfect ending. Leaving for Valinor with the latest elves was the best reward we could ever dream of for Frodo and Bilbo.

"We set out to save the Shire, Sam. And it has been saved. But not for me...". I didn't understand that at first but now I think I do. Frodo has suffered permanent physical injuries from his cursed stabbing by the Witch-King of Angmar at Weathertop Hill. Also, due to his role as the Ring Bearer, he was corrupted by the ring's powers almost to dementia at some point, likely causing permanent psychological damage on him as well. Even though Elrond and Aragorn healed him enough for him to survive, these wounds and memories would remain with him forever. And so, Frodo has to leave Middle Earth, or else he will never ever be at peace again...

When I came home from deployment in 2009 my last of two I remember seen children awaiting for their parents it hit me hard there because I was single no wife or kids but I knew many that died back there who did and I wondered why them and not me.

Yes, it is different. But for me it works astonishingly well. And the music wasn't even written for this scene!

This trilogy envoked so many emotions, so many tears happy and sad. Frodo will finally find peace after so many scars of war internally and externally. His life will be filled with joy rather than the horrors of war haunting him

across the sea never to return or be seen again in ME. I always wanted to see what valinor and the valar looked like or gandalf in his original form as olorin, i guess the closest we will get to a valinor city is lothlorien.

Thank you. Me, Alessio, Brian, Alan and Michel Perry and of course Howard Shore.were there when Mr Peter Jackson His partner (Fran) Laid down the last track on the movie. good choice though. Peter turned too Fran and said 'well that's it' They kissed and the whole studio cried. It was a magnificent moment in my life, you kinda had to be there.

When I need to be comforted, I go to Middle Earth for the joy it brings me; even the sad ending which makes me cry every time.
