Just a few quick notes: We did have springs separate yes but they were technically "L50" springs. So the L45 switches are lighter than the spring packs we offered. Theres no 10 pack but a 12pack. The feeling you describe of it feeling like 40 could be the case for singular switches but the deviation (as far as I am aware) is +- 5gf so the average (which is what the graphs show) comes out to 45gf end force. Also to note is that the force you feel in the beginning is around 30gf (for L45). The number of gf does not reflect any actuation force as we can only specify a start and end due to the actuation point being fully customisable.

in my experience with my wooting60, the springs feel so heavy when you first start to press down on a key. like if i had to compare it to a mousepad, it feels like super high static friction and low dynamic friction. i guess they're kinda like slow curved springs? do the L45s still feel like that?

I recently ordered the wooting 60he. I was told by a friend that received one last week that it feels lighter than cherry Mx browns, which are the only switches I’ve tried. Since the recent stock L60 batches are more lubed you think it’ll feel similar to Mx browns? Or if I want something just as light or lighter I should add the L45 to my order?
@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 8 ай бұрын
mx browns have a tactile bump, so the feel will indeed be different. But I would say that L60 will be closer than L45.

I fall into the enthusiast who loves heavy springs/tactiles and I'm unclear about spring swapping the lekker switches. Is it the casing that is the key? I know the previous flaretech switches you could easily spring swap. I just can't seem to find much info about using non-lekker springs in the lekker switch cases or my searches are just unfruitful. Could you shed any light?
@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 5 ай бұрын
aha, so you cannot use non lekker springs because of the magnets. you need non magnetic springs which are not used on standard mech switches. wooting will soon have springs ranging from 30g to 80g available.

@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 9 ай бұрын
@@1600luv yes, so the backstory behind that issue is actually pretty simple. Because the switches are hall effect and use magnets and sensors; if you touch a key before your pc turns on or right after plugging it in then it will uncalibrate the sensors and you'll just have to unplug it and plug it back in and everything will be perfect.

They aren't smoother: I have L60 and L45 switches lubed with g205, both using the same 45g spring. When I press on the switches really really slowly and apply sideway force (this makes the plastic rail touch more) The L45 gives more resistance and "stutters" it's way down, the L60 I can easily press it down smoothly. This is also very noticeable while playing osu and makes streaming harder. For me the L45 was an useless disappointing purchase since I hand lube switches anyway, the 45g spring is exactly the same as the 50g I already purchased and they are LESS smooth.
@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 11 ай бұрын
i dont think you quite understand the video, we are talking about stock here. if your switch feels weird on the way down you most likely overlubed it. Wooting updated how they lube their stock switches so thats what this video is about.
@nomecognome5050
@nomecognome5050 11 ай бұрын
@@YourCloudyyy sure they add more of factory lube, awesome. I can add g205 myself which is way better than the stock lube. But at the same time they changed the plastic tolerances or changed something in the plastic cause it's simply not as smooth as L60, both stock and hand lubed, actually g205 lube improves it a bit. No it's impossible to overlube unless you're stupid and drench it in lube, simply the plastic has more friction and doesn't go down smootly when pressing sideways
@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 11 ай бұрын
@@nomecognome5050 youre still missing the point of this video and why people watched it, they also did not change anything to make the l45 different, you must have a bad batch if yours is less smooth lol .

@nomecognome5050 11 ай бұрын
@@AquilaeYT Mine is not a reason not to buy wooting, I'm not saying the new switches are bad -_- You will hardly find any other switch being that smooth, maybe just the tangerines but those are not HE, I'm just saying it's not worth buying the new switches if you already have the old L60 hand lubed and spring swapped cause it's basically the same switch. I think usage did probably make my old switches self lubricate so they are a bit more smooth, the new ones will probably become as smooth after some months of usage
@YourCloudyyy
@YourCloudyyy 11 ай бұрын
@@AquilaeYT well no, its hard to judge someones experience if they have previously modded it. you cant compare a hand lubed switch to a switch that has been machine lubed, if his switches were scratchy out of the box that could be a qc thing, if its after he lubed it clearly wasnt the switches, the literal only difference between the L45 and L60 is the spring weight and their new lubing technique...there is no structural difference like he was hinting at.
