I saw Phil Keaggy when he opened up for Boz Scaggs when he was with his group Glass Harp. Thy were phenomenal. Keaggy guitar playing was one to be in awed with.A performance not to be forgotten. This album was the first Christian music I ever heard. So grateful to have seen him live a few times. Also glad to have a signed LP of his - "What A Day", his first record.

In the summer of 1977 my then-wife and I put up a couple who were touring with a group of Christian musicians that were playing at a local church. The husband was the drummer, Jim Delong. He and I had a couple of interesting conversations about the burgeoning CCM movement, with Jim stating his disappointment with the quality of many of the recordings. He was not familiar with Phil Keaggy, so I pulled out Love Broke Thru and let him listen to it at his leisure. Like so many of us, he was blown away by the musicianship and production quality. Fast forward to 1981 when I went to our local record store to pick up a copy of Phil Keaggy's latest album, Town to Town. Looking down the list of personnel whose name do I see? Jim Delong! It's a small world and, happily, it's filled with extremely talented people. Thanks for sharing these Keaggy songs, Lee. Just one more thing that makes you great!

Brother, you are shooting this video on the day I turn 63. First time I saw Phil and probably you, was in the very early 80s in Atlanta Georgia. I new Mylon back then when he was a janitor at Mount Paran, as he was trying to get cleaned up. The 2nd Chapter of Acts at the Fox Theater was a Gift. I've had a blast watching you share your Gift with so many of the Greats. Jackson Browne's Running on Empty album got worn out 😂😂 Heavy Red Pill and hard to swallow the amount of folks who's parents worked for the Military Intelligence Community back in the day. The late David McGowan wrote about Laurel Canyon, and its antics, and he suddenly died 😏 Randy Stonehill got it correct, It's a Great Big Stupid World, and he Turned 30 a Long time ago 😂. As I listen to this several months after you made it, I know that sense of loss you are experiencing. I've seen way too many friends and young people who have died suddenly. The Talbot Brothers sang about Seeing with New Eyes☝️👍 I was telling Stella, This ain't Hollywood and we are Only Visiting this Planet. Lee, I’m so saddened by the loss of your friends. I only knew Michael Rhodes through his work with Joe Bonamassa, but he was an arresting presence onstage and such a fantastic player. A great loss to the music world and those who loved him And David Lindley. One of the greats. His work with Jackson Browne is how I knew of him but I see he was a renowned session player I’m just so damn sorry, Leland. I guess the flip side of being around as long as you have been and being the kind of person you are, making friends with all you meet and work with, is that you have many more friends to lose. I saw PK in concert many years ago and we had about 6 musicians with me, several of which had degrees in music. We didn't catch a single mistake except one of us claimed she heard 1 mistake. PK played electric, acoustic and classical guitars without a mistake and finished by changing his guitar to sound exactly like bagpipes.

Hi Leland, I want to thank you for your contributions here on You Tube and of course your vast musical contributions. You are definitely a national musical treasure and the stories you share from being a contributor on so many great recordings and performances is always interesting. You mentioned “The Second Chapter of Acts” and if I am not mistaken, around 1977 Phil Keaggy did a live recording with some of the S.C.O.A. that was called “How the West was One”. To me, to this day, this is one of the “must listen to” recording’s featuring the virtuosity of Phil Keaggy. The songs, vocals, harmonies, musicianship that was displayed along with the message on that recording is just stunning. To anyone who has never heard it, find it, and listen. You will be glad you did!

I'm fully aware that this video is a couple of weeks old now, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting it. In February 21st my mom, who was also my only real and lasting human family (thank God for my cats and my dog, who's, unfortunately, is also reaching for the other side), died before her 72th birthday a few days later in March 1st. She was also my sister (we even had a very cretin joke that, if one of us killed someone for any reason, the other was going to help getting rid of the body), my daughter (I used the "father hat" many times when necessary) and, most of all, my best friend and confidant in this universe. She told me the mistakes she made, I've told her the mistakes I'd made and, we never judged one another, just tried to guide in a better, loving direction. My entire family rolled into one person. It's been a month and I'm an adult with no family of my own (as I said, besides my four legged angels), who's currently unemployed, living in a rented house which I'm unable to afford and a bit afraid of tomorrow, but only a tiny bit, bizarrely, since the major blow already happened. I was always afraid of dead bodies, but she died in the hospital while I was holding her hand behind the blankets. Her heart just stopped during the visit and that was it. Strangely enough, I feel grateful that, at least, I was there for the last moments of her physical life. Never in nearly 38 years I've visited a cemetery, much less on my own. Strange that my "debut" had to be the hardest. No frills or ceremony, just the casket lowered into the dirt, the fastest way, like she wanted. I'm not afraid of dying (I'm not trying, also), but it's tough to lost someone we love. She's alright, I guess, I hope, but I'm feeling like walking baby steps when I should be running a marathon to get my financial life in order. One day at a time and this video is therapy for me. Once again, thank you dearly and may your heart be consoled and that the kind and funny memories of your friends (I was also shocked about all of them, especially David Lindley) take the place of pain. You're not only a great musician, but a great human being, first and foremost. George.

Another sad day in the rock and roll world age 71 we lost the last surviving member of the mighty Lynyrd Skynyrd. Gary rossington has checked out. Unfortunately throughout the years he had a big heart attack in 2015 a lot of heart surgeries through the years which sidelined him on tours many times he had to take hiatuses from the band. But the last surviving original member of the ill-fated plane crash. Course you could forget him and another Skynyrd survivor back in the 80s had a pretty good sound with the Rosington Collins band. Kind of like old David lindley though he was sick off and on for quite a few years to unfortunately.
