When I was stationed in Italy I had a fishing license and we fished a lot of canals with 12’ to 15’ rods all the time. Brush and briars lined the banks and it made it much easier and quieter to fish

Yeah man, here in North Dakota, walleye and crappie are kings (especially walleye) but we have white bass in Ashtabula and Devils Lake and they are great to eat with fish tacos, on their own not so much but they are fun to catch!

For the legal size of a fish, it is MOUTH CLOSED and TAIL PINCHED. A fish with the mouth open will be half an inch longer than mouth closed, and pinching the tail on big fish can add between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch, otherwise a slot where they have to smaller than a certain size, if you don't pinch the tail, it might bee good, but if it is pinched, it might be too big. Those long crappie jigging rods are perfect for bank creek fishing to get your jig out in brush piles ect without you having to wade out into the water. Also really good for you to jig from your boat without risking dinging it up on a bridge.

You should really try going to Lake Madison in Madisonville, Tx. My average crappie is about 12 inches. I've caught a couple 15's and a bunch of 14's. They also have to be 10 inches in Texas to keep though.
