Thanks for this great video Morag, my neighbour in Sydney has one of these and the flavour and smell are exactly as you describe. You have an easy, honest and personable presenting style combined with great skill, knowledge and passion. I hope you might get a chance to share your message of layered gardens for food, habitat and fun in the mainstream media, maybe a presenter on “Gardening Australia” !

Thanks for sharing . Can I grow 2 meter away from our drive way ? I just concern the root from the tree may cause structure or drive way damage ? Thanks again .

I have one in a pot (I'm in W.A). Two questions: since it is a native, does that mean I have to only use native fertiliser on it bc regular stuff will kill it with the nitrogen? Also, in cooking, do you remove it like a bay leaf, or do you chop it up and actually eat it?

I have a beautiful Lemon Myrtle that I use almost daily & love it so much. It seems it needs a trim. I would love to propagate, but is it worth it at this time of year? I live near Newcastle, so a temperate almost sub-tropical climate.

I have had the HARDEST time finding this in the United States. Do you know of any nurseries that carry the live plant that would ship to the US? Also I found some seeds on Ebay and ordered them. If they are legitimately lemon myrtle seeds, any tips on trying to get them started?

Any tips for growing them in a pot? I have one that I love but it’s not looking so great. Also can you fertilise them? And if so what would you recommend? Thanks so much ☺️

Great video Morag. I have a Lemon Myrtle hedge (still in the early stages) and have been looking for a video on how to use it for ages. So grateful to stumble across your video. I have a question - when using the leaves to make tea, what leaves produce the best flavour, the young baby leaves or the larger ones? Also, does dried, finely cut leaves produce a better tea than torn or crushed whole leaves?

I am harvesting alot of Lemon Myrtle from my tress at the moment (Bellingen) and have been putting dried leaves in the blender to create tea leaves to give to others (or maybe sell in the future?), and then processing some more to create the powder. The scent is incredible! One of my plants needs a big trim, and some of the lower leaves have some spotting/marks on them..would they be less health-full to consume?

Sorry Morag, I've forgotten to ask how to treat rust leaves on my young lemon myrtle plant please?
@MoragGambleOurPermacultureLife3 жыл бұрын
Try neem oil. And also try to feed and mulch the plant to help make it stronger.
