I just realized this scene was shot at my school. I had yoga class up there. The elevator she walked in through don’t work anymore. Those stairs, I ran up and around them a few times. The ballet room is the weight training room. And I think the newspaper room is my old pe teacher’s office. I fudging love this movie and somehow I never even realized. I’m analyzing the whole movie now 😂

Since when are robotics, mathletes and the school newspaper considered bad for school image?

If it doesn’t bring in good publicity and money, then it’s considered bad.

Pretty spacious basement. Although, it does seem kinda stupid for there not be any room upstairs for any of this

Oh there is. It's just if you're not a sports major you're nothing to the school.

We all know that teen movies are unrealistic depictions of high school, but I found this to be pretty accurate. I specifically remember we had school-wide assemblies for individual athletes who won big state competitions (the wrestler went on to win Olympic gold a few years later, but still) while the winners of the more academic and creative competitions went totally unrecognized. We even had a concert pianist who won national competitions. He was popular among the performing arts crowd, but the school never recognized him except for the fact that he was also valedictorian. SO much money was dumped into the football program despite the fact that our team totally sucked and had a reputation in the state for being the worst. (Seriously, in the history of the school, which was about 40 years old when I went there, we had won the Homecoming game only twice.) It was maddening that so much money went into that instead of the places where students' interests more obviously laid. There were some really talented actors in drama club, and the plays were really good, but the sets were so embarrassingly made of cheap construction and paper mache, while our crappy football team got new gear every year.

These kids complain about everything, she complains about the clubs in the basement but hell in my school there were not even clubs, there were not even enough tables and chairs you had to arrive early to get a table otherwise you wouldn't have one. I especially hate when she said this school stinks. I mean you know nothing!

Every body hates the bad parts of their lives and just because there are people out there who have it worse doesn’t mean that it isn’t okay for someone to dislike the parts of their lives they don’t like

@@vio3366 and your situation with your small, underfunded school would be like a dream come true to those who can’t even go to any sort of school. There’s my point. Nobody’s got it perfect because perfect doesn’t exist. If you wanna work to make your situation better for yourself or for others, that’s your decision to make. And if you just wanna complain about how bad you’ve got it, that’s also okay. It’s just a lot less productive

@@scoutpark5230 I try to understand and i agree with a lot youve said, I get where you're coming from but a first world country problems are completely illogical for a person who has experienced much rougher times in a third world country (not trying to say that a person in a first world country can't have it hard but it's just different). I'm sorry if you were offended, we must never take things for granted but as I said, their problems are completely illogical to me.

I went to an underfunded middle school, dispute the fact I had one of my favorite teachers ever there, and that's where I met some of my closest friends, some I live with nowadays, that school in general sucked. Barely had any electives, no clubs whatsoever, not even sports teams, it was also a tiny school, and we didn't even have a real 8th Grade Fair.

This is a good video clip. It reminds all of us that we all have different skill sets. It is something that we should not make fun of. It is the truth. "USCCB. "St Joeseph the worker, "Mathew 1 18-24. Jesus. Thanks, Disney.
