Lena Horne really delivers on a reprise of her classic "Stormy Weather" in a medley with her latter-day anthem "If You Believe" from the musical 'The Wiz'. Superb!

I met Ms. Horne in 1985 when she brought "The Lady and Her Music" to the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. I was an usher there. Our house manager arranged for some of us to meet her. I believe she wore this. Backstage I shook her hand and was dumbstruck: the lady who looked like an amazon on stage was tiny; I towered over her when standing in front of her, but was still scared to death. And 67 at the time, she did not look a day over 40. She signed about a hundred or so playbills and called everyone "baby." I think my heart skipped a beat that evening.
