Hey dudes how did everyone find this guide for arena? I want to use more video images in the next arena guide, just so its not reusing the same gifs i've used in this video haha. If there's a guide you want me to cover please let me know! Next week will be looking at all the variety of monsters.

My advice would be to stick to a town and stick to a dungeon that you're familiar with. Loot respawns, so find a good place to get items and gold and a good place to buy and sell things to merchants you can actually find. Then when you're ready to actually play the game, you should be set after like an hour of grinding. That being said, no matter how much I grinded in Arena; it never felt like enough... Anyways, great video. You helped me pick my next character :)

I always recommend Spellsword for a class, they can wear up to chain armor and can use almost all (if not just all) types of weapons.

I very specifically searched “TES arena class guide” and it was the first recommended video. But I ended up going High Elf Spellsword for my first playthrough. Enjoying it a lot so far! Thanks for the guide

I know this is old, but as Khajiit are my favorite race I wanted to point this out. Khajiit as a race vary GREATLY. They have biped forms similar to man and mer, but also have quadruped forms that range from huge battlecats as tall as two Altmer, down to the size of a house cat. They have characteristics that range from more human like to very catlike. But they are all equally Khajiit and capable of reproducing with each other. You see, they have 17 different forms called furstock based entirely upon the two moons shapes and position when they are born. Thus they can look wildly different from their own parents or siblings. Imagine having one parent the size of a house cat, the other looking like a Bosmer and your sibling was born a tiger the size of an SUV while you look like a anime catperson. Also, some of the earlier records show them living around Lake Rumare of Cyrodil before the Heartland Elves aka Ayleids came and drove them away before building the White Tower that would later become the Imperial City. But this little tidbit is still up for debate. Last bit of trivia, the Khajiit furstock of Arena are the Ohmes, who look like Bosmer so they paint their faces to distinguish themselves. Their cousins the Ohme-raht look similar but with cat ears, fur and tails. The Khajiit of Morrowind are Suthay-raht while Oblivion and Skyrim are their Suthay cousins. The difference being Suthay-raht had digitigrade feet and could run on all fours. While the Suthay had plantigrade feet (human like). Well, hope you all enjoyed the little lore lesson on Khajiit. I'm no loremaster just a khajiit player, so if there is anything wrong with what I have said, I apologize and will correct it. May your roads lead to warm sands. Edit: There, their, they're strikes again. SMH.

Rangers keep improving their damage with all weapons as they level up. I would say that makes them one of the best classes in the game. Especially combined with either Bosmer, Dunmer or Redguard who also increase damage with different weapons. Some strong combos are Redguard Assassin (melee damage + melee crit), Bosmer Archer (the same, but ranged), Almer anything (immnuty to paralysis), especially as a Sorcerer (immune to mostly anything, so focus on being a fighter) or a Warrior (essentially a fast levelling knight). Bretons are also useful in this game due to their magic resistance. Spellcasting enemies spam spells like crazy in this game. That's also why Sorcerers are really good in this game. Use Shield to increase your low hitpoints, and refill it every now and then. And as mentioned before, altmer is the best choice here due to their immunity to paralyzes, which are in many cases poisons, rather than magic.

Unbelievable that this game came out the same year as System Shock, which was way ahead of its time

I would recommend Knight to most, paralysis is really unforgiving. But it's maybe less interesting and unique than other choices. PS you forgot the list of names you mentioned in the video!

Hey dude! Sorry for not including the link i'll quickly include it now haha. I hate those spiders soo much! I reckon the best class for me is the nightsblade, and i wish I had chosen that in my let's play series.

I've played Arena before, but I've never completed it (and it's the one game in the Elder Scrolls series that I haven't completed). Just started playing it again recently.

Paladin's are the best imo. Sure, you can't use magic, but as long as you store up enough potions and perhaps have a few magical items you'll be fine. Plus, their unique bonuses such as automatically repairing weapons and armour on the go, and their paralysis as you mentioned more than makes up for what they lack in other fields.

@Konata Izumi i wrote that comment at a time when i had a weird obsession with spellswords so i wouldn't be surprised if they were an awful first-time choice on the whole

I did pick Burglar Class and Khajjit race Grayfox. I build agility, luck and speed. Also a bit of strength and endurance. I have a bit of problem to fight as a Burglar and I critical strike against my enemy.

My attributes in Arena (Elder Scrolls' S.P.E.C.I.A.L) seem to have been drained from a disease. I've taken potions of purification, cures to poison and disease, and took rest but got nothing. Anyone know what to do?

nice potato joke. so, i think the classes with unique passive abilities (barbarian, paladin) is more useful than the classes without such abilities. on other hand, how often do you need to care about the poisons, broken armor and paralysis? i dont know if it worth it. i tried to play arena a couple of days ago, made a dunmer-battlemage, get out of prison, but was dissapointed a little that battlemages cant wear heavy armor :

I know what you mean, it kind of annoyed me. An Elder Scrolls game without freedom? But this was a game from 1994 and odds are they were going for more of a Dungeons & Dragons approach. Still, I find Spellsword to be the most useful. I keep a stock of potions and magical items anyways, but when I run out, I have a full mana bar to just restore my health with. Other than levitation and invisibility, I can't say I have felt the point in using combat spells. Enemies run at you far too quickly to react to it. Same with a bow and arrow, in my opinion. If you can look past the flaws though, this game has a great story and atmosphere.

I think Burglar is much harder and useful class to lock pick into house and palace.
