Great guide to 'how to run a business', Chris. It's amazing how many companies just do not understand that it can really pay to get to know the client a little as they can come out with little gems of information that can make your job a lot better and your company much more likely to be called on again. I really loved the part where you explain that you don't bill the customer for the time building the relationship and talking to the customer but you still pay the technician. I like that you think of the customer as family and treat them so well.

Thanks for posting. And your discussion on good PR is spot on. When I worked at a restaurant I use to talk to our service techs. In fact my Boss would generally meet and greet them and discuss the problem. One less thing he would have to deal with. Made me feel wanted.

Chris, if possible adjust your camera shutter speed to match the refresh rate of the Lennox Controller just an idea dude.
@HVACRVIDEOSАй бұрын
I'll see what I can do about that
@stevebollinger3463Ай бұрын
It’s video so it’s more shutter angle. And on a phone you can’t do much about that since there’s no aperture they use the shutter angle to set the exposure. So changing the amount of light can make it better. It actually was pretty good today. It was readable.

ok I am confused why not commercial? it has been a while but has a/c changed that much? the best way to grow a company is do the customer right because they willl tell 10 people and those 10 will tell 10 more, what they tell is up to you good or bad your choice.

If you build a good reputation and do right by the customers, then when you tell them something really needs to be done they might not have planned on, there is much more of a chance they will listen to you because you haven't nickled and dimed them.

Technically, aren't you charging the customer an extra hour or 2 when you make these videos? You end up explaining and talking instead of just getting right to work. Seems a bit unfair when you look at the big picture. 😂
@jonjo6886Ай бұрын
If the company profits from the videos Chris may be able to reduce the cost to the customers. Could be a win - win?
@HVACRVIDEOSАй бұрын
The videos don't take alot of extra time to film. During my service calls I talk to myself the entire time anyway, it's just now I hold a camera and upload it to KZbin. I also charge accordingly, if I film something that does take extra time I don't charge that time to the customer.
