If this cookie is a meal replacement its not a terrible option. If you are eating these as a snack than its heading in the wrong direction.If you ate one at breakfast, lunch , and dinner 1260 calories for the day wouldnt be enough to keep your metabolism stoked.Think of it as a protein shake as a meal replacement instead of washing down a regular meal and I think perspective changes.I eat one of these before a tennis match and I dont get bloated, get energy which I know is getting burned off.Its processed food so there are better options like oatmeal with almond milk but to get the added protein you have limited options. Wait... 16 grams of protein per cookie and a half cookie is 8 grams. So the labeling checks out. Why would you say it needs to say 8?
@AvatarNutrition5 жыл бұрын
It's really a front of label vs. back of label thing - they'll put the info for the full cookie protein content (2 servings) on the front, but calories/carbs/fats on the back are listed as half servings. So really for the sake of consistency it would be more honest to put 8g per serving on the front of the label. People generally don't want to/aren't going to do the math to figure out the totals unless they're already tracking things. The label is something where if you didn't look at the back it's intended to make you think, "This is a healthy food and good protein source." In reality it's similar macros to getting a Snickers bar with a little extra protein.
@ItsShariB5 жыл бұрын
Avatar Nutrition but naturally when people read the calories per serving or protein from something like that (a cookie) they naturally think it’s the whole cookie so it’s actually accurate for them to put 16 grams of protein on the front because that is indeed what the cookie is. I don’t get what the issue is. It would be misleading if the front said 200 calories then I could understand how misleading that is. But it’s actually accurate. The cookie isn’t 8 grams of protein it’s 16 🤷🏽♀️
@AvatarNutrition5 жыл бұрын
@@ItsShariB I respect your opinion on that, but you also have to remember that there's a tremendous amount of calorie rounding in regards to this label and as a result the perceived caloric content is significantly lower than the actual yield. The label is designed to sell the product, not necessarily represent the truth of what's inside it.
@BlueStar0825 жыл бұрын
ItsShariB Bro you’re right. The labeling is completely accurate. This guy is confused by serving size. If it says 1 serving is half a cookie and you eat the whole cookie, you ate everything that’s on the back of the cookie 😂. These cookies are your alternative meal prep. You can count one of these cookies as a small meal and eat less calories than an actual small meal with a good amount of protein. They aren’t just for eating recreationally. I’ve been using these cookies to eat less meals a day and they happen to fill me up all the same. I’m making forward progress by shredding fat and gaining muscle and it’s thanks to the help of these awesome cookies. The chocolate mint is the best flavor btw. #TheCompleteCookie for the win!
@Kisend4 жыл бұрын
Wait, so the point of the video is that its misleading but not entirely bad? I’m on a lean bulk and have trouble hitting my calorie goal but have no trouble hitting my protein/carb/fat macro goal. Would these be still useful?cause 420-470 calories per cookie is alot and i use these as my safety net when i cant hit my calorie goal since they arent that filling.
@AvatarNutrition4 жыл бұрын
They could definitely be useful, it's just the front of the label uses a lot of "diet food" tropes, so people who aren't well informed and are trying to lose weight often pick these up as a snack without considering the total calories in the entire cookie.

If you want to lose weight you must keep your insulin levels low. Insulin is the fat storage hormone. When you eat carbs your body turns it into glucose blood sugar. Pancreas releases insulin to clean the blood from all the sugar and store it as fat. Therefore the more carbs you eat the higher yoir insulin levels will be and the fatter you will get. There is no difference between eating sugar or eating bread. All carbs turn to blood sugar. Keep off the carbs. If you eat carbs make sure it's only before a workout or physical activity. So the L&L cookie has too many carbs but the Quest cookie doesn't have enough carbs?
@AvatarNutrition5 жыл бұрын
Just depends on what your needs are, everyone will have a different optimal carb intake based on the multitude of factors that have an effect on total daily energy expenditure.

@@AvatarNutrition Yeah just from experimenting with my diet over the past couple years I have learned carbs (at least starchy carbs like bread, pasta, etc) don't do well for me. If I eat much bread over a period of a few days I immediately get bloated and gain 5-10lbs. I feel so much better and loose a few pounds when I get most of my carbs from fruit and veggies and get plenty of healthy fats and moderate protein.

@@shinzman87 wow that level of fluid retention may be indicative of an allergy or intolerance of some kind - you may want to get that verified through some bloodwork!
