Its a shame he didn't get in an episode of Minder;) No one has died bare knuckle fighting. The deaths in boxing only started with Queens bury rules when they brought gloves in. The gloves protect the hands so you can hit the opponent more with out damaging your hands.
@alan-ql5lm2 жыл бұрын
yes but it also makes the blow softer on impact of head but does that by spreading the impact which turned out to be more harmful than bare fist as it causing bad damage to boxers brains the gloves

I would never of got on the wrong side of Lennie. If I hit up a club and had the pleasure of meeting him I'd just wanna show intelect and respect. This guy would never attack or hurt an innocent guy. He only dealt out punishment to people who wanted a fight. Considering his past and all the things he conquered in life he was a gentleman if you didn't try and take liberties. He was a gentle giant. But make no mistakes if you push the right buttons he was the scariest most volatile man anyone could find themselves on the wrong side of. He wasn't mean. He was accertive. There's a big difference between the door staff in the industry today. Lenny was NEVER a bully. I will always respect and admire that about the G'overnor. His son is a good lad and we need tough guys to keep the balance when shit hits the fan. Respect for giving up the booze though cos that's a completely different story. Respect and love to Lenny's family. He was his own man and he did what he had to do. Never judge a book by it's cover 👍👍👊👊😇😇🙏. Make no mistake though he was potentially one of the scariest men on the planet. Even more so than Mike Tyson. Only person I think deserves the same respect is Roy Shaw. These guys were unstoppable 😲😳😯

Large portions of McLean's career cannot be verified, since his fights were unsanctioned by the boxing authorities. He was known to have lost several fights, although he always maintained that he had never lost a fight "on the cobbles" or outside the ring. In unlicensed matches, he was twice stopped by Cliff Field. Field had been beaten by Pearce's brother, 'Bimbo Pearce', and twice beaten by Johnny "Big Bad" Waldron. McLean also lost via KO to George "Pappy" Langley and on points to Kevin Paddock

How do you know nobody lost their lives in bare knuckle boxing. I don't know if anyone ever did or didn't. But lets be honest every fighter was managed by gangsters up and down the UK. So if am did die i think it would be hushed up quickly. They all had form and no dout the ways and means to get rid of a body. And no dout some will have a body or 2 buired somewhere anyway. Plus is it like licenced boxing were by law if your opponent dies your liberty is not at stake its just unfortunate. I would think in bare knuckle boxing if you're opponent dies you better be on your toes as the feds would be looking for you, bye bye for a good few year's. But im no expert no doubt one of you will know better and cant wait to correct me?.. do you think big bad john furry would shout out Lenny if he were still alive and well. 😂
