Dominick Izzo is a retired Police Officer and the Chief Instructor of the Izzo Wing Chun Academy.
Dominick Izzo began studing Wing Chun in 1998 after an extensive amateur competetive Wrestling background.
Izzo studied under Ip Man / Sam Kwok / Simon Lau lineages and passes on his love and respect for Wing Chun in it's truest sense as a combat system for self defense.

Goes to show, people are flawed yet the redeeming factor of any character is 'owning it', and recognising where we screwed up. 'Very big characters' hits the nail on the head. I love it that such personalities can explain a difficult situation without blame-shifitng. Crap, I've been there. Did it hard to get out of the weeds, take responsibility and smooth out some regrettable head-butting. Folks like you are my inspiration, Dominick. Great to see your acknowledgement, Lenny. Life throws us some harsh lessons.

Lenny, thanks to Dominick's urging in this video, I spent several hours watching your Aikido tutorials; and, as someone with some Hapkido in my past, was totally blown away. What impressed me the most is that you are doing for Aikido what Dominick is doing for Wing Chun: taking two amazing fighting arts, cutting away all the nonsense and bringing them back to what they should be.....real-life fighting systems. Personally, I hope when the time is right you guys will mend the fence and let bygones be bygones....we need more honorable warriors in this world.

Terrible Tim Witherspoon here Dominick. It takes a lot to admit to so much that you did wrong. In life it can be very difficult and hard for us to look critically at ourselves and know we weren't always right. You were hurt by what you did and what others did to you. I understand the pain you feel and the wisdom you gained from that pain. That is life my friend, it is a journey where wisdom is gained at the end of a whip. We are beaten by life, but we heal and move on. You were very honest here and that is a mark of a true man. Thank you for sharing and I appreciate you and your honesty.

Hey Isso, I’m glad you made this video. I was a big fan of you guys(and still am) at the beginning of your merger and could not wait to see where it would take you guys! This was a very important part of your life that needed to happen. You guys found each other a couple times in life, and though there was some pain, it caused a positive shift in your life. I met Lenny years ago at a seminar and he was guest presenter. While his videos do make him come across as very direct, I will say like said here he is a very nice guy when you get to know him. The only thing I’ll say that surprised me was that he is not very tall or at least he appeared that way to me when interacting with him which his videos make him appear different but none the less I have a lot of respect for what he did. Nobody is out there teaching the way he does, they’re all still teaching that 1960’s peace and live version. Lest not forget this martial art was born out swordmanship not smoking pot and talking about we love everybody and don’t really want to hurt them.

Respect for coming out with this. I've always seen Lenny as an extremely passionate person, but I don't necessarily agree with his teaching methods. He shouts at his students, calls them f*cking assholes, and generally looks like he's on an ego trip all the time. But this might just be something that happens on camera, I don't know. Also, maybe someone likes this kind of teaching. I, however, wouldn't want to be in a self defense situation, with the voice of my teacher insulting me playing over and over in my head. That's a recipe for disaster.

I believe it's a professional thing. Police, Military, Fire and Emergency services are around death and violence frequently. Just like the saying, A punch is just a punch. Satme can be said about a dead body. Most of us who serve often don't recognize a dead body is just what it is. Not saying it's right. Just a different view I guess.

I think getting this off your chest is a positive thing. Sounds like you both made some mistakes (we all do in life) but it's not worth dwelling on we are only here for a short while. Lenny sounds like a decent guy but has protection on the mind constantly due to a broken world we find ourselves in.

Mr izzo I watch your videos and I love what and how you teach it man and I admire the honesty but a few things I want to point out I have a super hard time respecting the pro blue thing me I come from a place where law enforcement DEPENDING on the officers are truly abusive to us man I've seen as a kid my father was a hustler so he made mistakes in life very humble changed straight up man nowadays but man you have to understand sending photos of someones family member deceased regardless of trust you had or have for Mr sly man that's completely WRONG period brotha how would you feel if it was your mother wife child or anything or anyone you loved and a officer done that and it came to light this is the reason I grew up not trusting law enforcement man if you guys do things like this behind closed doors and even more on camera but then go justify it that's a HUGE problem man who is the true piece of ish who's the true criminal brotha I'm sorry but I couldn't resist speaking on this man I'm from a African American low income community so I see guys that wear that blue uniform and badge abuse power and authorities everyday then claim well it's my people who are the criminals but that's a topic for another day but man that's not okay i respect you in many ways brotha but that one hurt man I understand you sent those in confidence but no good guy or mature guy does this and say well if you never done it eff you come on man not cool you was wrong brotha in many ways than one but like I said I speak my mind too always have and I love your content and honesty but I truly hope you understand that man that wasn't cool brotha I can't speak on you and Mr sly relationship and what happened bc only you guys Know truly and can fix it but pro blue doesn't mean you let your brotha in blue commit disgraceful acts like that and not say anything pro blue would've been to let you know that ain't okay weather you like it or not that is disgusting my man but the past is the past I've made plenty of mistakes in life I'm not a felon or anything but committed crimes as a dumb kid stayed in fights constantly he'll still get in a few today's time lol but I had to put my opinion on this I know u could careless who TF I am or what I do but if I watch your channel and love it I feel I can comment but respect for this man not many people can admit being wrong even I have a hard time at times
