I’m in China and the names here are different, legion 3, legion 5, legion 7 in China are called just 9000 series. For example if the laptop has AMD CPU it’s called Lenovo r9000, if its intel CPU than Y9000 series. The high-end, slim or budget versions are marked with letters X, P, K. As an example, Lenovo legion i7 in China is called Lenovo y9000k

Hey Jarrod, after years of watching your content, I finally got myself the same budget gaming you reviewed, but the AMD variant, which I decide from your previous review of AMD Vs Intel (the current generations), I prefer the battery/portability, mine specs is 15 inch, 165Hz AMD 5 6600H, 16 DDR5 rams, 512 SSD, 3050 Ti as well and the battery for the AMD is 60Wh, got it in France for 750 Euros which at that time was equivalent to 750 dollars ... It only has 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, but I have extra memory and storage on hand to upgrade it. While it also has the 1080p/120 Hz screen, the laptop will be connected to a TV 95% of the time so that's not a big deal.

Got this laptop after watching. Been using for about a month, and it runs great. Most games on high at 120fps. Some demanding games (specifically Forza Horizon 4) prefer medium/high to stay around 100fps. Great laptop for the price

Good to see they adopting legion design for ideapads too! I got my dad 2021 ideapad gaming 3i and ports are a mess as they increased fan size>>larger heat exhaust vents. all the ports are towards the user, not ergonomic at all. but hey i got it for $570 with 11320H/1650/8gb/60hz. he doesnt game just need it for productivity, screencasting. market is really weird right now, atleast in India. you cant get a decent 'home' use laptop below $600 with i5 and here i got one with dGPU! what I like about 2021 3i over my own 2020 ideapad 3 (4600h/1650/16gb) is that larger hinge, thermal pads everywhere, slimmer power brick like yours and included hdd bracket for later installation @Jarrod'sTech can you check one thing for me? when laptop is powered off can you wake it to go to smart novo menu by pressing only f9? It's a tough one I am buying from Amazon pay over 12 months so very limited, so far Lenovo ideapad 3 gaming Ryzen 5 5600h and rtx 3060 but only 8gb ram £66 a month or get the ASUS TUF Gaming FX506HM 15.6" 144Hz Full HD Gaming Laptop (Intel i7-11800H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, 512GB at £75 ready to go it's just money and I want an rtx 3060 not matter what that is the minimum graphics card on the lenovo it's 85-90 watt graphics card so need to check out the power of the graphics card as the Lenovo Legion 5 etc are 130 watt rtx 3060 so a lot more powerful but also hotter

I love this laptop for those who are on budget this is a must. I have 12500, 8gb, 3050ti 85w, 165hz for 900usd. Upgraded to 16 ram and honestly it runs perfectly. Haven't tested too many games but so far so good, all online fps, br games are maxed out. Doing cyberpunk now no bottlenecking at all at very high settings. Fans get a bit noisy but aren't you playing with headphones on anyways? Small cooling pad below and the temps are never high considering that I'm in a very hot environment as well. I know most would prefer 3060s but they are still a God tier in my region and I wasn't planning to game too much so I saved some cash on this one instead. Honestly it's a really great machine imo so I might even get back to heavy aaa titles which I haven't done in 5 years.

Worth mentioning, do not order an SSD before opening your unit. Even though in the video, at 6:40 this is mentioned, you could be fooled. Since these are manufactured in high quantities, they will use whatever is available. In my case, the unit had the longer SSD populated. This is especially true if the config is different that that of the video and the actual lot number differs as well.

this years version seems to have the 3050, 3050 Ti, 3060 as options. tgp seems to be 85W, 85W and 105W respectively

3060 is an option, but this is the config I was sent, which honestly I think probably closer matches the spec most people looking at it would get.

I think this would be fairly decent with 3060 option and the 300 nit 1080P option. The 12650H is plenty, the 12700h difference is only extra E cores but the 12650H still a 6P+4E processor. Right now with 10% coupon it's the same that I paid for my 2021 Legion 7i though with 3070/16" G-Sync/1Tb/16GB so my advice is always to wait for Lenovo sales. For 2 grand AUD for the spec I mentioned above it's fine, for 2900 currently, at best with welcome coupon, it's not. Edit, no TBolt on 3060 = no way.

This laptop is the worst laptops I ever own after 4month the laptop shuts down just before my final exams and then I send it for a repair and it comes with a new problems. It’s uncomfortable owning a laptop that could stop working suddenly while you studying. I don’t recommend it to any one especially for students. It’s that bad and the repair services one of worst I ever had. If you want to buy it you have to know that you buy nothing but a painful experience.

I feel like the 90wh battery laptops that are only giving 250ishhh min of battery life something is wrong definately the nvidia gpu is enabled!! I hav msi gf 65 after updating to nvidia drivers the laptop gpu always stayed enabled which resulted in 2 hrs of battery life after deleted gforce and latest drivers i went to msi website and downloded the drivers and simce den the gpu only works wen under load and get over 5 hours of battery life!!

i wouldnt say the 3050ti sucks. sure its worse than pretty much every other modern dedicated gpu but that does not mean that it will not give you solid performance (unless you are running certain heavy games or running high settings). im glad this gpu exists because it is a reminder that the next generation does not have to get better at the low end. that said i would still not recommend this gpu due to its price being too high, but it would be a good choice if it had a reasonable price tag

depends on what you use it for, a game with DLSS will be better played on an RTX 3050TI, but other games that lack such options will be better off with 1660TI. also the 3050TI being a newer card will be supported for longer time by nvidia.

Check the GPU Wattage (and CPU) TDP , the one higher the best. About quality, idk about Lenovo, but Acer seems having some quality assembly issues(last gen)

I'm using Idepad 3 R5 4600H and maxed out RAM to 64GB. No problem at all Basically, for DDR4 max 32GB per slot.

So you got a 2.1 48GB HDMI for 4k 120Hz gaming but you don't test it ?! I though that function is not very common and other TB4 to HDMI 2.1 adapters not always work well.

you cannot always making demands for dual channel memory on budget oriented gaming laptop, if every other brands with similar price not going to offer anyways otherwise manufacturer might opt for the worse case of Soldering one stick into the board to "cheat" the cost for the dual channel preload. This example already happened in a regular ideapad 3 with 4gb soldered + 4gb occupied which Instead Requires you to swap the RAM, even though it is still dual channel preload.

This laptop is 1100 eur with rtx 3050 here in PT. Not very budget friendly. Legion 5 with rtx 3060 is 100 eur more.

Decent, but if you search right you can get better GPU with last year's device for the same money, or spend a bit more on getting better device from other brands. Maybe wait a while to get this device if you don't want fast but just a laptop to game.

But with price like that you can get better devices from last year. It's only a good buy if you want that CPU or wait s few months.

@@Mr11ESSE111 i know ,my point is in esports games like csgo etc . most esport games dont give a f***k about your gpu as long you play on low settings which make more sense for competitive purpose . They only care about your cpu. But yeah honestly i would go for last gen cpu and 3060 for my use case , cuz i very rarely play esport shooter games . I mostly play singleplayer games
