I have a fully spec'd X1 Fold 16 Ordered with the FM 350 Modem. I'm very sad as my account rep says April Delivery. Internet is seriously deficient of newly released hands on of these units. My sadness is gone now that you have one in your possession and have this video out. This will buy me a healthy 2 -3 weeks of my wait. Absolutely love your content.

Im very curious to see how your experience with the ergonomics/ux of the new keyboard and stand design. I personally really liked the prior concept as it meant you immediately had a "usable" netbook formfactor when you opened it, while this will almost always necessitate setting up the keyboard before you can use the device. Its a complete 180, so im intrigued if the sacrifices from the prior gen will pay off. After so many boring laptops in recent years (the xps 12 and vaio z fold were the last truly unique laptop designs i can think of) its exciting to now see 3 relaticely distinct ergonomic concepts for a folding laptop from hp, lenovo, and asus.

I hated my first gen fold and it’s sitting collecting dust for more than a year mainly due to the awful performance of the chip. It was so sluggish and slow and the screen software was buggy and did not function quite well. Another issue was the size of the keyboard being too small to use. I don’t think Lenovo can earn my trust again to throw another 4grands on their products specially being released in 2024 with a 2-year old processor.

Hello! Do you want to sell it? What about specs?

Did you try updating it now? They might have fixed alot of your issues, plus un installing alot of the bloatware yourself or using a tool like bloatynosy will take alot of crap off the ram and your performance will greatly improve. Plus dont forget to set it to best performance in windows power options....

@@stankozniewski9385 yes I kept it up to date with drivers and software and cleaned the bloatware. I also tried installing a full clean version of windows. Ram was never an issue, it’s just the 7w processor is too slow to accomplish tasks. Plus Lenovo software that detects the status of the folding screen and the detachable keyboard was annoyingly buggy. There was a project floating around the internet to install fully functional linux version on the machine to make it usable but I lost track of how it went.

Nice video. Thank you. When you compare the X1 fold 16 and the yogabook 9i, could you demonstrate whether the yogabook can treat the two screens as one in portrait mode, so that two pages in MS WORD will be displayed on the two screens (one page on each screen)? Thanks again!

Hi, How would you compare this unit with that of Asus Zenbook 17 Duo 2024 which was featured at CES 2024

I love my Gen 1 X1 Fold and have found ways to make it more performant. Win 11 changed everything on this device. I want to do the Gen 2, but I really prefer the size of the Gen 1. For clamshell mode, I just run things at 125% vs the 150% default and it works well. Perfect for flying or quick emails.

Have you had any issues with the stand being a bit flimsy?

for me personally, the single display of the X1 fold is better, because with it's size, when you need to multitask, you have the room, but when you're doing a single task but want or need a large screen, with the yoga book, you have a hinge preventing that, with the X1 fold, you're free to do so

(Also - the Gen 1's keyboard fits inside and charges wirelessly while nested in there.) I think one challenge for Lenovo with the new Fold doesn't come from Asus's foldable but rather the new Zenbook Duo. Less than half the price for better specs and a more durable device.

I want only the keyboard to use it with desktop

What a shame the stand wasn't built into the back cover. The separate stand you have to carry around is a mess.

The price is just rediculous especially compared to Asus Duo
