Review of the 2023 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 laptop. This comes packed with the latest Intel i7-1360P CPU and an Intel iris xe gpu. It's still incredibly light but worth it?

The only reason Thinkpads sells is for the trackpoint. Remove the trackpoint and there is no reason to get a thinkpad over other notebooks even from the same vendor I.E. ideapad.

My first ThinkPad was a gift from my late granddad, it only had a TrackPoint (no touchpad at all). Since then I see no point on using anything else but the red dot, no matter how much I try, touchpads feel less precise and "unnecessary". That's why all my 4 Thinkpads have their "touchpads permanently disabled".

The NIPPLE IS A MUST HAVE. I am 15 years Thinkpad user, and now on my X1 Nano I use the trackpoint much more often than trackpad. It feels very fluid, navigating the OS without changing wrist position. I use Mac Book pro 14 inch for media production, and I like trackpoint more than macbook trackpad although it is very easy to use. I'm have a blessed life.

Its NOT actually a nipple, its a fully multi directional pointer and mouse that doesn't require the user to move their hands from the keyboard... no one has been able to improve on it, and its utility to so many users has been proven over time... I get it if KZbin presenters who don't do actual work don't get it, but these machines are not made for them

Thanks for the review. The review of the 2023 X1 Nano is interesting because there seems to be little innovation in this space. Would be interesting to compare it to older models that, for non-big business users, might present a better value proposition. I'm still using my early 2020 Razer Blade Stealth 13. PS: For fingerprints, skins are definitely the way to go. Would be interested in a review of some of the more popular skinning companies, e.g., dbrand, SlickWraps, Sopiguard, etc.

The asking price of recent ThinkPads is on par with Macbooks, except, they're barely half as good when it comes to screen quality, trackpad, build, performance, and battery life. If someone really needs a laptop that can run Windows or Linux, paying such a price just for ThinkPad brand is not worth it.

It's a holdover from how IBM did it. IBM did it for ergonomic reasons, IIRC. It makes it a shorter distance to hit Crtl-A, Crtl-S, and other commands, especially for people with smaller hands, while Fn commands would require you to stretch your hand all the way out anyway.
