Love the reviews! I fell in love with this laptop and I'm thinking about getting it (32GB version). I literally love everything about this one but I’m worried about the PWM flickering, idk if it’s that healthy long-term...
@Dovecomputers2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Depends if you are sensitive to PWM flickering. I've use it as my daily driver for 6 months+ and found the display to be superb, working on it for hours with no issues. The OLED screen is fantastic. 👍

Really enjoyed this review, thank you! Sadly, this model isn't available where i live, do you think Yoga 7 Gen 8 could be a worthy alternative to this one?
@Dovecomputers6 ай бұрын
Thanks! The Yoga 7 14 is the 2-in-1 model. The alternative would be the Yoga Pro 7 Gen 8. I purchased one to review/compare with the Yoga Slim 7. Slightly older CPU (AMD 7735HS) but with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. Hopefully get a review out in the next 2/3 weeks. 👍

Love the review. I am eyeing on this laptop for some times now but lenovo is restricting the availability in most countries; in USA or India, they are not even planning to launch it. I am leaning towards the HP EliteBook 845 G10 / FireFly G10 A 14 with the 1600P Dream Color Display. I am really fond of OLED displays but looks like this time, have to be satisfied with IPS.
@Dovecomputers6 ай бұрын
Thanks. Lenovo have restricted it for several months now. The Gen 9 Intel models are coming out soon. No sign of the AMD Gen 9 versions yet. You can't go wrong with the EB845 or the FFG10, both very good laptops. I have both! *Only downside compared to the Yoga is inferior display and audio. but the HP's have upgradeable memory options.

Hey man I just got the same laptop but my battery life is always around 5h, even at half brightness and light workload. Also the chassis gives off this ugly cracking sound whenever I pick it up or rest my palm on it. Have you experienced similar issues?

I received my Yoga Slim 7 a few days ago and have sent it back. The performance is really excellent, the laptop looks great and the screen, audio and keyboard are really fantastic. But the fans run all the time and have no clear pattern. They often start up even when the laptop is doing nothing. Since I need the laptop mainly for office work, I don't need the enormous power, but a laptop that doesn't bother me even in a quiet office. So I now bought a Thinkbook 13x Gen 4, which is much quieter and covers all my needs. What a shame, because the price of the Slim 7 is really unbeatable.
@DovecomputersАй бұрын
Strange as I use mine as a daily driver (6 mths+) and they hardly ever come on. I like it quiet as well. If the bottom vent is covered (e.g. duvet, cushion) the fans will kick in. *Funny, waiting on Lenovo to send me the ThinkBook 13x Gen 4 for review.
@PlatinAviation8 күн бұрын
That’s interesting, from many people I hear the fans are always on and others say they rarely start.. seems like there’s 2 variants or something 😂 The risk of loud fans is also the reason I didn’t buy this laptop. I’m also considering the Thinkbook 13x lol

hey there, I have a question. So I just ordered this for about 1050 euros including 21% VAT. However, there is also the Yoga Pro 7 Gen 8 available here for 950 with a 7840HS, 32GB RAM, 2560 x 1600 IPS display. There is also of course the Yoga Pro 7i Gen 9 with Core Ultra and optional dGPU for 1300 to 1500 euros. Which do you think is the best buy between the former two? Im sure the new core ultra at that price is not the best buy unless you need a dGPU.
@Dovecomputers2 ай бұрын
Not much in it between the Yoga Slim 7 Gen 8 and Pro 7 Gen 8. Both very good laptops. The Slim 7 G8 has the six speakers vs four on the Pro 7 G8. OLED vs IPS matte display. Slim 7 has slightly better battery life than the Pro 7. IMO, the Yoga Pro 7i Gen 9 is too expensive and you are not getting much more performance compared to the 7840S or 7840HS AMD CPU's + 780M GPU.
@Burbanana2 ай бұрын

I found refurbished one from a european retail store(gigantti) for 500€. If you want good deals on laptops, go look for "used/refurbished" laptops. Mine cost 500€ instead of 700€ because of a visible scratch on the monitor, which doesn't bother me since I'm using the laptop on docked mode

Totally agree. The Gen 9 that's just come out is the same with a max. of 16GB. Thinking it was something to do with the slim dimensions and 3050 GPU inside? But realistically I think they have done this on purpose as the Yoga 9 has memory options to 64GB.
