@777lucifero2 жыл бұрын
Adhd, to the best of my knowledge, is not really a disease. It is a coping mechanism of sorts, probably stemming from childhood stress/conflicts between your parents or similar. As a defense, your mind needs to focus off and wonder. I say that as an extreme case of adhd, and that's the most plausible explanation I ever found. Then they say it's hereditary, but that I do not agree on; what I think happens is that, inevitably, parents even unconsciously re-create the same traumas/emotions that their own parents fed them when they were young. In a similar fashion to how we tend to end up with a partner that then in long term we realise re-proposes similar emotions (or lack thereof) to our correspondent parent.
@kimmy760172 жыл бұрын
Not really. I understand why you think that but my child does have it and has struggled. I did set boundaries and consequences. I see your point that some use it as a cover for bad behaviour. While there are plenty of TikTok diagnoses monetising neurosis-as someone who has adhd -I would dearly love to slap those who larp as having it and those who will fully hold onto a smug, ignorant and reductionist view like something from the 90’s about it. For example sleep disorder, having had restless leg syndrome since childhood is part of my diagnosis. Restless legs for example is connected to dopamine as is adhd. Non ecg narcolepsy for example is mildly inconvenient and requires stimulants to help be a Wagie Cagie for the tax man. Brain scans show structural differences. The medication has a different effect on those with and those without . Is it an excuse to leverage some sort of victim privilege? no-adapt and overcome. But the sanctimonious “back in my day” boomers lecturing like they have some sort of medical degree-just bc they are alright Jack-is as fucking boring as the people who confuse it for a personality characteristic.

"Sometimes democracy's bad." It's _always_ bad if you recognize it as mob rule, 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner, yeda yada. The US was deliberately set up with divisions of power and checks and balances up the yingyang precisely to do as much to protect minority interests as was possible. The 1973 Roe decision nominally was about abortion, but the Constitutional problem with it had to do with the fact it was an over-stepping, an erosion of one of those divisions. Hillary is calling now for eliminating the electoral college, too, openly calling it "obsolete" -- the idea being that it's "undemocratic". Which it obviously is. But the US Senate is exactly the same way, probably even worse -- 2 senators per state, regardless a state's population. That results in a Wyoming citizen's vote being more than 65 times as powerful when it comes to Senate matters as that of a Californian's. Time to get rid of the Senate? How about we just get rid of the states? Why even have them?
