I don’t like reading into body language on walkouts but the last time I remember a fighter looking so scared was Dawson vs Bobby Green. Colby looked miles off it and it just felt like a waste of a title defence for Leon and yet the UFC won’t learn, they’ll still do Jones vs Stipe even though Stipe has 1 fight in 4 years and he got knocked out cold 🤦‍♂️

Yeah but he also looked like that in the 2nd usman fight and in that fight he also fought very cautious and tentatively. Colby isn’t a dumb guy for as big as a mouth breather he makes himself out to be, he knows how good Leon is, how he is a fully well rounded mixed martial artist with zero holes in his game who’s good everywhere, and then on top of the layoff, and the guy in front of him like I think he just had a lot of pressure in this fight mentally and a lot of it he put on himself. Then he gets in there and Leon off the back is walking him down, keeping perfect range, using titular stances and feinting and not fighting emotionally at all and also just the speed and sharpness as well…the guys a tough puzzle to crack and Colby just folded in there and I think was content to go out in a relatively lackluster performance but that goes to decision rather then get turned into a highlight reel and meme and absolutely butchered everytime he did throw strikes at air and get countered.

@@theblues8840 yeah I mean I get it, but I think Leon proved the way he fought and carried himself that he’s above this. Unlike Colby who is a literal bottom feeder, scumbag kind of guy willing to do and say anything to get ahead but then fight like a scared little boy under the pressure of his own hype and bs and inferiority, leon is a man who has and provides for his family. Had he locked up that arm bar and Colby tapped he’d have let it go imo, because he wouldn’t risk like his livelihood and capability to support his family. Sure a lot of people would have figured Colby would have deserved it but Colby’s karma is having to live with the fact that even after selling his soul and making a complete mockery of himself as a man just to get ahead like despite all the privilege and opportunity he got off of that he fell shot everytime, and this time like in the worst way because he crumbled and fought like a scared little boy.

Only 10 mins in, loving it, but a rare comment from me... When Adam just relaxes his face it falls to a look of confusion and mild terror. I know that look/ feeling lol. Won't go into into it. Just know I know!! Nick either didn't stay at the party as long or is still at the party ... working that one out but he's looking in far better shape, perky even. Exactly! Was super frustrating that Rogan couldn't understand that taking the fight to the ground at the end of the fifth was basically Leon making a point. He knew he already won, and showed Colby that he wasn't scared of taking things to the ground. Complete and utter shutdown. I thought this was the perfect way to win for Leon.

I’ve never been knocked out, how I don’t know but I have experienced something like Bryce. It was like a white out still standing but had a nerve pulsing in my head every time I tried to move it was like a reset with another electric shock going through my head. It took a good few minutes for it to subside enough for me to move the shock kept happening for hours just less and less severe.

Yes Colby’s performance was embarrassing, but Leon’s was also horrible. He had a guy in front of him who couldn’t take him down or stand with him and after having 3 rounds won, Leon still just sat back and was hesitant with throwing combos. Like wtf dude, he can’t hurt you, he talked about you dead father, go take the MFer out. Leon is so fucking boring to watch.

Can we stop with these fighters going up weight classes without proving themselves. Izzy got his shot through multiple defences/lapping division. Volk got his shot through defences/lapping division. Islam defended twice against a 145 pounder. You should have to defend at least 3 times in your own division before considering going up. Same as rocky, there’s belal, Shavkat, burns, Garry, Brady. So many options.

I know UK fans will disagree but I thought Leon's performance was a bit lackluster tbh and he could've used this fight to elevate his status. Colby had absolute nothing for him and posed no threat whatsoever yet Leon never felt the need to finish him. I don't mean he should've bum rushed like a fool but he should've punished Colby for what he said just like Khabib did with Conor (bar jumping out the cage although that made him a superstar in hindsight). I think if this was a different fighter, e.g. Islam, then there would be more criticism.
