This pens is stunning Karyna!! You should try a wetter ink in there, it's happened to me before with that very ink in my Pilot 823 - which is my smoothest fine so I knew instantly it was the ink. I hope that works because I know that almost disappointing feeling. It can be the most beautiful pen in the world, but if it doesn't write as I thought it would it ruins the experience for me.

So. I had a really great comment on my last fountain pen video, where the commenter suggested either Parker Quink Blue or Waterman Serenity Blue as a pen testing ink. He said, these inks are reliably and known to not cause any issues in pens, so you would always get the same first impression in regards to ink. I already have Waterman Serenity Blue in my cart on amazon and will add it to my next order. (Hopefully, that will be the only ink I'll buy in 2023.) But it makes a lot of sense to me. I hope it was just not the perfect ink for this pen and you will fall in love with it more.

I did end up using it a bit more and now it is inked with Teranishi Opera Rose and I love it!!

Congrats, what a gorgeous pen! The Momento Zero is one of my holy grail pens and I haven’t gotten one precisely for the price :(. I’m inspired to get a referral code though! And a lovely pairing with brunch date. I’ve also found that my first impressions aren’t always correct. Congrats on the pen again, it is gorgeous and I loved seeing the unboxing!

A Memento Zero is a great grail pen - I'm now on the lookout for any releases featuring resins from Jonathan Brooks (Carolina Pen Company) because those are gorgeous - but yes, very expensive!

Wow! That Angel Skin is gorgeous! This reminds me of my italian Maiora Mediterranean. I received my Platinum 3776 Chatre yesterday from Amazon Japan. I can’t wait to share!

Gorgeous pen! It’s on my fantasy pen list, as I just can’t afford it now that we’re retiring. But that material is stunning. My Leonardo Momento Zeros all have great nibs, ranging from super smooth to a little bit of feedback but still lovely. I’m glad you stuck with it, and that it grew on you. Happy Holidays!

Thanks for your honesty. It is so pretty. I have a Pineder that is only lovely to look at but decorates my pen box. Would you buy it again? I kept watching the Estie and ordered one last night.
@KarynaLovesToPlan Жыл бұрын
In truth, I don't think I would buy it again. I don't know if I would sell it, but I wouldn't buy it again, knowing the size of it. I would probably get a Momento Zero instead of a grande.

Beautiful buy!! Thank you for your input on how it writes, this is the first thing on my mind after seeing how pretty it is. 😄 Such a beautiful pen! Merry Christmas!!

I don’t get gold nibs as a rule because I don’t get a sufficient bang for my buck, but I have several Leonardo’s and adore them all and find the steel nibs to be very smooth writers.

It usually is the ink, like 8/10 times haha. Brunch date is a dry ink. Vanness' website identifies most of their inks with how wet or dry they are. I've bought wet ink samples from there to put into my finer nibs or my Platinum/Sailor pens, which are typically drier. The wet inks are wet indeed, and makes my pens write smooth and beautifully! :) Try another ink in that pen and it might write better, but I don't have a Leonardo, haha, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but always feel that an Iroshizuku ink will always make any pen write beautifully. -Though seeing your end thoughts at the end of the video, sometimes a pen and ink needs a bit of time to meld into each other, so I'm happy it worked out for you! Brunch date is really a perfect pairing for that angel skin pen (just like Rouille D'ancre, loveeee that shade of peachy brown).

Glad you now like it. My Leonardo seems scratchy and dry when I got it. I did have the nib worked on to get it to where I liked it.

Unacceptable at this price point imo
@gailsbookishthings51912 жыл бұрын
@@Lorvina1 I agree…at least though the seller tweaked the nib for me free of charge. My cheaper pens have been more consistent than the more pricey ones. 😩

Beautiful pen Karyna, so true though about the JoWo nibs, they are smoother lol. I was a bit underwhelmed when I got my Sailor Pro, which was my first and only gold nib pen, because I did not get that wow factor from the writing experience immediately. But a you have experienced, a few days using and writing with a pen can definitely be cathartic lol. I now love the way my Sailor Pro writes... Happy Holidays to you and your family and thanks again for sharing this beauty with us 🎄🎆🎅🎁

Sometimes, our first impressions aren't always the best. Give it a few days with different ink and it can make a world of difference!
@kschmidt19672 жыл бұрын
I lean toward medium nibs on the fine side. The Leonardo I have has a medium nib and is such a smooth writer. Maybe this beautiful pen can get a new nib. Ink always makes a difference too.
@KarynaLovesToPlan2 жыл бұрын
Yes it does! I wish medium had been available but I think fine will do for now, especially with a wetter ink!

I don't have a Leonardo pen so I found this video to be really interesting. Since you like pens with more girth you may want to consider an Opus 88 "Bela". It's an eyedropper filler with a shut-off valve and an ink window. It comes in a couple of colors and I've really enjoyed mine.

That nib design is to die for! I'm glad the pen grew on you, it happens that way sometimes! Weird question, the piston knob doesn't look all the way closed, am I seeing things? Is there something about the design I don't understand? Just curious.
