I doubt that he put anything randomly. that list of food seems that it might be more than meets the eye. Paper was too important for a simple list as such, maybe I am wrong but my gut tells me otherwise.

but why?? Everything that Leonardo did in Engineering was total trash. His only benefit to mankind might be botanics, art and medicine... everything else was just absurd.

are you serious? 3/4 of the stuff he designed got used centruies after him, without his sketches and prototipes we wouldn t have a lot of modern machines, plus whatever he did, he did it for pure "fun" and interest, but thanks to him we built the first idea of a battle tank, the first idea of "shootgun" or machinegun, a quick reloading crossbow, semi-auto rifles, ships, war machines, even some kind or robots made of wood, without mentioning the contribution to the "flight dream" he was also an architect, scientist, botanic, and especially artist, we remember him because he is the example of "a great human being" someone that manages to do almost everything and manages to do it in a pretty good way,he is the symble of the renaissance.
