Totally out of touch with the ground. The biggest problem is that when the management level of a company is entirely controlled by people from a certain country, it becomes almost impossible for locals to be promoted. Some nationalities have a strong culture of exclusion, such as the Ma'sians and Cecas, they would always use various means to hinder the promotion of locals. We welcome multiculturalism, but there must be a limit, many countries lost national cohesion because they over-did it, that is why in most countries particularly Japan, South Korea, they all have measures to prevent foreigners from getting promoted to the management levels of companies.

And you are talking about cost to the foreign worker which companies do not care (company pay x dollars to you, any expenses you incur do not eat into my profit.) As for work pass, the agency fees are a cost to the worker. The foreign worker was willing to be exploited for marginally higher pay than their country. Locals suffer because there is no minimum wage. Why we do this is to keep employment (govt kpi) and let companies suck you dry.

These are happening in our country. If you look at our universities (programmes such as the industrial partnership program- EDB) are currently in place where MNCs train up phd level singaporeans, give them exposure to industrial relevant research, allow them to work with foreign talents. Doesn’t mean that when one is not seeing it, it’s not happening.

You want talent, why not SAF start hiring Mercenaries. We also go sublet the General Job to someone more talented. We all very open minded, we not against talent from S-Pass holder and E-Pass holder. And why we make our men serve NS, one by one the salary 700 so expensive, mercenary from elsewhere we can push the pay down and cut cost for more effective worker. Just like MAS can order the bank and intervene with the dividend to make sure they have enough for bad debt, so can they do with the CEO. This is especially when the SG govt is the major shareholder in DBS, I expect the fellow to serve NS. OCBC and UOB even if they hire foreigner I not worried, the people in charge and in power are people who serve NS.

I was called to have interview and traveled from Clementi to eastern Part of Singapore near Changi . When I reached there the staff of the company looked each others' faces as if they did not arrange any interview. At least they should apologize though they cannot offer my expenses for transportation, taxi fare.
