She was a good person who made a bad decision in the heat of the moment. She wasn't trying to hit anyone. She was speeding and driving recklessly though, and doing that can cause bad unintentional accidents. She literally never delt with cops before and she panicked bad. Ironically, an actual "bad person" would not have ran in that type of situation, because they would have probably delt with cops many times before, so they would have known better.

I didn't even get the feeling she was that drunk in the beginning as she wasn't noticably slurring her words, and the way she discreetly put her seatbelt on, shifted into drive and sped off all in one fluid motion isn't something that most weekend warriors would have the hand/eye/foot coordination to do, but it's hard to argue that after seeing the mess she made! 😂 My favorite quote: "Look, your car's on fire." It's a head scratcher alright. She did admit to having some drinks, and her driving behaviour points to being impaired, but she certainly didn't seem like she was wasted or anything. At worst she was looking at a low level DUI first offence... until she wasn't. Also yeah, I love how nonchalant the cop was with the whole "oh look, your car's on fire" and "look what you did" like he's talking to a toddler with cake all over it's face and hands, and the walls... The cop just happened to run my plate, and when it came back he pulled me over and told me why. I was honestly shocked, I had no idea; however, I never acted like a spoiled child. I was calm and cool with him. We spoke and after he heard me out, he was nice enough to let me drive my car to an empty parking lot, instead of towing my car, which he had a legal right to do so. He left me in the lot, while I called around seeing who can help drive me car home, but once I paid off my fine online my license was activated and I was good to go. You can't be sure she would have faced any serious punishment even if she did kill someone. A few years ago here in my town a young girl was driving drunk, ran from the cops, took out a bunch of fence and mailboxes and flipped her car killing her best friend who was a passenger. She was charged with vehicular homicide, dui, evading and reckless driving. She is the daughter of a wealthy businessman. In court the judge dropped all the charges except the dui. She ended up with 1 year probation and 6 months loss of license. There was a lot of public dissent but nothing was done about it. On the same day that judge sent a 19 year old to jail for a year for slapping his girlfriend. However the judge was voted out at the next election. Big deal, he still practices as an attorney.

I was pulled over weekly as soon as I got my driver's license. Age 17. Why? I drove my moms ancient car, and I was young female driving alone at 11pm from church choir through the city. The police back then stopped older cars for safety checks. Cops liked picking young females alone too. I'd get a list of items checked by the cops, and items of concern ( rusted bumper) and I'd leave the list on the kitchen table for Dad. He'd laugh and say "your 2 older sisters never got my car checked so often!". Finally he let me drive his better car to choir practice to avoid the checks. So reaching g a certain age doesn't sig if anything about your driving, rather the type of policing, impaired driving check programs etc used by your city.
