This is another good AA demo. Glad Leon has contributed so much content on the Amplifire gear lately. I’ve been on the fence with analysis paralysis after reading so much nonsense online, but at the end of the day I just need a slightly dirty clean, a crunch (like this Kornfield clip) and a raging modern tone like the Archon. I barely use effects and already have an H9 anyway - so Leon has basically sold me on the aa6 or maybe the aa12.

great one. very nice model this kornfield. suggestion: you should make some videos breaking down the effects on the amplifire cause lots of people are confused by the way they are implemented into the ui and go through that each parameter does. also you forgot to put the IR link in the description

I love atomic’s modelling! I’ll have to let my amplifirebox go though, it is so counter intuitive 😞. I feel I need a computer with me every time I’m changing its settings (and the same with the amplifire6). So why not just use VST?

Great video Leon! I noticed Amplifire does something interesting with the pre-established routing grid: the cab is last in the chain. Makes sense as that would mimic a real amp setup. I noticed, also, that your AXE FX vids have the cab block immediately following the amp block. Any reason you treat the AXE different? Cheers!

AFAIK the Atomic fixes the cab at the end of the chain to make it easy to run a power amp and cab along with a DI to FOH. An IR is a linear, time invariant filter so the order isn't important, but running it before fx in the Axe-Fx makes it easy to preserve the stereo image of delays and verbs.

Leon. You're killing me 😂 Making me really think about one of these. It's between this and the gigboard. I've not heard enough samples with the gigboard yet though. The gigboard by far has the easist to use screen and gui software. It even has a hands free mode to make changes of parameters to a block / amp, cab, effect. That said, the atomic is set and pretty much forget, and I fu#÷=ing love the sounds from everyone I've heard, and it has that advantage for sure. Which is huge of course as well.. I'm also trying to decide if I want an all in one solution, or to buy a seperate preamp, power amp, etc, and build a pedal board that has these as well as individual overdrives, and delay, etc to use with backline amp. Might end up with both. I love the idea of just setting up a clean tone, breakup edge tone, and lead tone with delay and reverb, and maybe a little hint of chorus or phaser, and them just use that all the time. Or of course one can setup a scenes setup to go by for a setlist. So many options. Right now I'm just playing thru my Katana, but probably get the atomic. It's just killer sounding and has all the amps and effects I need..just too cool. Doesn't the atomic have a soldano? Or 5150 ? I would live with one of those amps basically with different gain settings and for a clean use a fender... Anyway. Thanks buddy for the demos. Very informative and your really good at this. When I buy one I'll download all your free wav cab files to use sir... Thanks man.. Tim
