Awesome video!! I completely missed the trick with this module. In the sense that I had no idea what it was based on. You nailed it when you said ‘underwhelmed’ thing, when I first plugged it in, I Knew it was a tweaker but the bass control thing is what I missed! Awesome job mate!

Thanks mate! "Bass on 0" feels like heresy coming from any other high gain amp but it definitely helps do "the thing" these are known for. I think you showed it's not the only way to roll though!

@@LeonTodd Really really good man. I have to ask though, you nailed the guitar sound but the rest (drums etc) is very scooped sounding. Was it on the samples or did you just scoop some of the final track lol? Happens to me sometimes. I get pissed off and end up scooping the whole thing lol.
@81giorikas2 жыл бұрын
And by the way, what impedance do you sort of prefer with the soldano you have? I find that 8 ohms is like what it is needed when you aim for the classic soldano crunch but some 16 ohm combinations makes it looser and weirder in the treble which with darker guitars make it really barking and brutal. In a non soldano way. I do use same speaker all over by the way. All 16 ohms so it's not the magnet etc. I use a 1x12 and 4x12 in parallel to get the 8 ohm combination.
@LeonTodd2 жыл бұрын

Happy Friday leon . I know I've been driving you crazy with all the axe fx questions but I've also been watching a lot of videos on the synergy system and am thinking it may be the right way to go for me . I watched a video last night with a question and answer you did where some one else asked you about they have trouble programming and should they go with some thing with knobs instead and you said go with knobs then . I'm still not quite ready to pull the trigger on any thing yet but that really kind of helped me out . I just think the axe fx is going to be over my head and leave me more frustrated then any thing . I'm more of a pedal and head guy with knobs . I do have a rack with some old program able stuff but it's nothing like that axe fx . I'm really digging the vai and slo modules for the synergy system and think they would work well together . Thanks for all the reviews you do . They really help us guys out a lot by maybe thinking a piece of gear may be right for us and realizing it's not and saving us a lot of time and money . Keep rocking brother, I all ways enjoy your videos and my wife and I really enjoyed your shorts on queensryche. They are her favorite band

Have you perchance tried to get King's X type tones out of the IICP module? The way I see a lot of people dial in the real-deal Mark 2s (cut pre-gain bass for tightness, crank pre-gain mid for saturation, then use post-gain GEQ to bring the bottom and sparkle back in) always reminded me of how Ty Tabor would set his Lab amps back in the day.
