Synth vids for guitar players would be amazing. Especially using these new floor units like the digit and the MOD devices.

I love the time change from Australia to the US. I get to wake up to Leon’s videos on the regular. Lol. Great video. My iPhone is full of ideas (music and lyrics) but nothing beats a piece of paper and a pen for some reason. Last time i was in the studio it was paid and pen.

Nice Leon. I'd say a decent array of hand and power tools is a pretty useful thing to have. Pliers, wire strippers, Allen keys, screwdrivers, battery drill etc. Be careful with the contact cleaners, though. They can be nasty with some plastics, lift lacquers from PCB's etc. A headswitcher is handy. But it's worth noting, most head switchers (the VT included, used to have one) are not capable of dealing with trail-off/spill-over signals like delay and reverb in the effects loop, as the de-selected amp load is not big enough. These only mute the front end/guitar signal of the de-selected amp, so any signal coming back into the effects return is virtually the same as the same as still playing into the input, as far as signal output is concerned. The Mesa Head Track switches effects loops (got one recently), the Weber Headswitcher and possibly the one Diamond had for a while, have substantial enough loads, so can apparently absorb trails from the effects loop. Cheers, Chris.

+1 for the Morley ABY switch. I have both Axe FX III and FM3 connected while I am porting presets from one to the other so make sure they sound the same.

The Morley ABY box is very handy for gigs. I use it to easily switch between two guitars and I can match the level between humbuckers and single coils. It also has two outputs so you could use two amps in stereo.

Cool video Leon, plus one on the Audio Technica headphones and having a notepad and pen handy, i'm alway writing down ideas, whether its a video idea or settings on my software or on my Axe-Fx. Look forward to more of these. Have a great day buddy.

I totally agree with the journal/notes. So many people just try to go by memory and I used too also. My days feel more complete when I cross off things on my list knowing I haven't forgotten anything. It is so crazy these days that many people don't write or read books anymore. Oh also I had my G 7th for years too. Good capo.

I need that VT amp switcher! I could easily go back and forth between JCM900 clean, JCM800 crunch, and then JCM900 lead using its foot switch.

Hi Leon! I have nearly the exact same "support" resources in my home studio! Voo Doo Labs PedalPower, Furman power conditioner in a rack with my Axe and Matrix power amp. I have my rack in a 3U Gator Case that sits on a nice Keyboard stand type of unit so I can get behind the Axe etc. I also have my FRFR speakers (Behringer's and Headrush) on speaker poles and wall mounts to get things out of the way. I'm also using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 unit on the desk for my interface next to my macbook pro and 55 inch tv/monitor LOL! Need to see my tracks and my programs you know! Would love to see some synth videos from you! I have a Carvin NS1 and GR-55 (13-pin connector), but I don't use it much as, in my opinion, many of the preset patches sound really hokey. I think I have only used the Rich Strings and Cello patches with any regularity. So would love to see what you come up with! Great video as usual Leon! Thanks as always!!

Cool tips. Love the capo one. I use a Headbone VT on a couple Marshall heads. Works great. I use evernote for song ideas. It has a web and phone app interface, free and I dont have to worry about losing that scrap of paper (which has happened).

Good tips like always...in my case I´m sooooooo forgetful than one time I have journal and I lost it...and I lost my house keys, my bike keys, my car keys...like we use to say in Spain: if you don't have a head you have to have feet!!! (my free translation!)

Oh! You really need to check out the Push2 from Ableton. It is incredible for doing synths and altering them and ....just tons of stuff. Its very tactile, which I like and has a screen to give you feedback in what you're doing. You have to use it with Ableton "I think"...don't quote me on that. Its not too bad for price. I bought one lightly used off Reverb. I love that thing. Check out a few videos on it and see if you like it. It makes doing stuff like that much easier for me.

I was watching Ola's Will It Chug from today and it was a pedal from Empress Effects. I had heard if them, but not really paid much attention to them. Started looking around and they have this pedal called ZOIA. It's a little like the Digit, and also different. Has synth capability plus much more. Even has a sequencer built in. Check it out.

Good morning Leon! Great vid! You should do more of this also. Always cool to see what little gadgets people use and as always I learned something else. Didn't know there was something like the radial VT. Very interested in weather it would work live or is there something better for 2 heads live?

Dr. Duck on Ebay (2 pack) item #362941445146 for $21 shipped in USA; Contact cleaner will crack nitrocellulose finish if it comes in contact (very cold)-so make sure you protect the finish when spraying...use sparingly. Set sodering iron temp to 725-750F for the best results. Synth for guitar would be great, so many great products out there, e.g., omnisphere, trillian arturia synths...crazy. A lifetime could be spent in synth's alone. What a great age to be alive. Thanks for the tips Leon.

I still have a near half full bottle a dunlop lemon oil I bought more than 10 years ago with my ibanez vbt, and I the kind to use too much. For 10 bucks I'd say it's a great buy. Also naptha/lighter fluid is the best cleaning product you can get for non nitro guitars. Micromesh or whatever the overpriced guitar specific version is named is excellent for smooth frets. Better than steel wool, but a good piece of leather should be good too. Please do the synth videos, I might get into that some day and it would be nice to know where to start

Hey Leon, would it be overkill to buy the fm3 when I have the axe 3 already? I mean honestly I think so but I’m just looking for a 2nd opinion from someone who already has both.

The FM3 is so compact and convenient for travel and gigging that if you can afford it you should do it. All those glorious fractal tones in a much smaller box!
