It's quite nice to see a conversation about weed that doesn't go into the extremes. Like you have people on one side who demonize every aspect of it and wont admit to any positive effects. And then you have the other side who refuse to admit, that of course weed has negatives, like addiction, apathy and un-productivity.

This video resonates with me on a very rare level. I started taking THC regularly (in different forms) about 8-9 years ago. I'm 30 years old, and I've had a conscious battle with depression since around 16 years old. Off and on. The deep self-loathing kind. Mind consuming. Convicting myself of thought crime, then not only realizing how many regrets I have that I never thought much about, but realizing how much I can never be honest with people about certain subjects because I prefer the current status of my relationships... Real fun. Deserved imo. Anyways, it feels like I've always wanted to quit weed, while the people around me have no issues with it whatsoever. It occupied so much of my time, especially when it was causing pain seemingly at random--pain here, there, uncomfortable abdomen here, and so on. I've had so many problems that went away as soon as I quit weed (with no other life style change) that I personally believe it's related. I love weed, but when I've tried to stop many times, I have failed many times. I try to tell people it's mentally addicting to me--history has shown that I can get used to good and easy very fast. Sometimes I think "weed is too good. It's too easy." I think some of us are spoiling ourselves in a way--weed can be instant gratification. An instant distraction. An instant change of view. A sleep aid. It can be so many things. I just like who I am on weed more, though I appreciate how energizing being sober can be. I'm back to vaping after an 8 month stint of sobriety. For 2 months now. Right now I feel like it's helping me be who I want to be. Started stretching, walking to work for more exercise, getting to work on time, only eating food from home at work, paying more attention to my nutrient intake because of how little I eat, drinking more water, getting good sleep... and I feel like I know more about myself now than I have in long time. There's someone in my mind that I want to be and it's driving me forward, though I still can have moments where it feels like I've been trying hard enough for long enough, that I feel only a couple steps away from the cliff back down to the bottom. At this point, I can tell. I think that and the person I want to be is what's keeping me in the boat right now. I still vape more at a time than I'd like in the grand scheme too, but I believe in myself. I'll keep vaping until I feel like I need to know what I think in a sober state, or the cons outweigh the pros again (not exclusively related to health). tldr; Weed can be mentally addicting and I'm kind of blown away to see very familiar thoughts expressed in this random video I watched on weed. ;P

Curious where your relationship with weed is right now. I was an every day smoker for 10 years and I got fully sober mainly because I struggle with addiction to harder drugs. I was undoubtedly addicted to weed though. I didn't realize until quitting that it was causing some serious physical problems (mainly to do with digestion) and that it really did effect what I was able and willing to do with my life. I've been sober once before for 6months and when I resumed smoking I really really enjoyed it again and didn't see it as a problem. But eventually it returned to being what it was. That's what still keeps me away. Sure it'll be great at first, but eventually I will need to it enjoy life again.

Never has there been a more relatable KZbin channel to me. I watched this a bit apprehensively thinking oh man is he gonna be a dude that just has nothing but good things to say about weed, but no once again you are just like me. You liked weed so much you were addicted to it and eventually decided to stop. Appreciate the very real and grounded take. Most people either don't really like how they feel on weed that much so it's not a problem for them, or love it like us and are in a bit of denial about any negative consequences. Also the fact that your "skits" are actually funny and not just awkward time filler says a lot about you as an entertainer :)
