Never give up Elise. I love watching your channel. Even though I am a Master Crocheter and taught Crochet for a number of years. I am now retired. I still love to knit and crochet and your enthusiasm is infectious. When I get finished with some other projects, I intend to order your Wolf Amigurumi pattern. I made the Unicorn and Dragon Amigurumi from the first book of Pica Pau. I sent them to my Grandnieces in Michigan. They were thrilled. I included my old Dance recital costumes so they could play Princesses. This all happened because you inspired me so much. Thank you for just being informative and sharing your joy.

Wow! Such great questions from everyone! One thing I really love about crocheting (knitting, too!) is the local community of other crocheters and knitters. If you have a local yarn shop, stop in and ask about meet ups. One of my local shops has ladies in there all the time who are sitting around a table working on stuff and chatting. I've met so many cool women (and a few men) just going to random gatherings. Some stores allow you to show up any time and hang out. Also, seeing all that beautiful yarn will inspire you, I promise!

I alternate when I start having pain from crocheting to loom knitting. Looming, for me, uses different hand muscles so I can do it while resting from crocheting. I loom for a day or so then go back to crochet! Also- I tried different yarn weight-needle combinations to get the right ones that do not hurt but give me tight stitches! Took me awhile but dk weight with B hook is PERFECT for me.

Thank you for answering my question. You made some points I hadn’t thought of. I do both knitted and crochet amigurumi. Currently I enjoy knitting more than crochet, overall, but I always have at least one project of each going. I, too, was a homeschool mom. My youngest graduated last year. I am still highly involved in the homeschool community as I am a homeschool evaluator (PA law requires homeschoolers to be evaluated at the end of the school year by a certified teacher.) My oldest daughter got engaged NYEVE midnight 2022 and married 6 weeks later Feb 12, 2022 in our home. It was a whirlwind but a wonderful day (my husband, a pastor, performed the ceremony.) They were in a hurry to be married and live 45 minutes from us. No grandbabies coming . . . Yet. Due to the short time between engagement and wedding, she didn’t get her knitted blanket she requested until months later. 😝 When I watch your videos I feel like we could be friends. Thanks for putting out great content.

Hi Elise, I really enjoy watching your channel and the help you give is priceless. You are so upbeat and cheerful which brightens my day and I can tell how much you love your craft. I find getting the right yarn for a certain project can be a mine field. I’ve recently completed an amigurumi baby doll and I used a 100% cotton but I think I used wrong yarn as doll had no give when stuffing and the clothes etc I made from the included pattern to fit her were too big. I’m determined to get it right by making another one but I’m really struggling with the best yarn to use. Could you please advise me on best yarn to use for a amigurumi baby doll, she has joints and wired limbs for movement. Thank you in advance for any help and advice and your encouragement. Nicky
@EliseRoseCrochet2 жыл бұрын
Yes, cotton has very little stretch to it. You could make the clothes in a smaller size hook so that they fit better. There are soooo many good amigurumi yarns on the market. I have a lot of videos about amigurumi yarns on my channel. I also always share what yarn I'm using on a project so always check the description boxes for that information as well! Good luck! 🧶🧶🧶

I don't know how I missed the call for questions, but I'm disappointed I did! :( I have no idea what I would've asked, but I don't doubt I would have come up with something. I do love how you emphasized that taking a break if one needs it can be just as important as kicking yourself in the pants to get motivated. Too many people are willing to keep grinding away at things, even if the joy is gone, and they need to learn that it's important to step back sometimes and remember why they fell in love with this hobby in the first place.

Hi I love all your videos and creations, they are so helpful. I had a quick question, what size yarn and crochet hook do you normally use for your projects? Thanks!

Amigurumi is the reason why I learned to crochet. I’ve been a knitter for years but I find knitting toys to be much more fiddly.
@EliseRoseCrochet Жыл бұрын
I agree! Crocheting toys is definitely simpler! ❤️
@Jellybeansatdusk Жыл бұрын
@@EliseRoseCrochet I vastly prefer knitting for clothing though. Like you said, it drapes well, but it’s also more flexible and less stiff usually. Except crocheted lace patterns can be great for cardigans or boleros or an outer layer

When using paintbox which colours do you use as skin tones? I feel like there isn't a perfect one for skin tone
@EliseRoseCrochet2 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't remember right now, but I just played around with the different ones that looked close enough to the skin tone color I wanted. Sorry my memory is so bad. I haven't found a yarn yet that has all the skin tone shades as well as all the colors for toys. But I do remember that Green Frog Crochet did a great skin tone comparison with the yarn she uses. She shared it on her Instagram. Might be worth checking there!! Sorry I couldn't be more help! 🧶🧶🧶

@@EliseRoseCrochet that is helpful, I'll have a look over there. I just find with the paintbox some are a very cool beige and some are very pink. Been going with beige most of the time

@LePetitSaint Crochet I made items from the hooked on Amigurumi book by Melanie Morita. I'm a huge gamer and nerd. So I made the love potion, ghost, and tea cup. We also put catnip in some of them since we're crazy cat people.

Shawls were the ONLY THING I crocheted for about 2 years… now I have over 2 very large Rubbermaid bins full of them and I don’t know what to do with them! I’ve tried selling them at craft shows but nobody has bought any! They just don’t seem to be popular. I’m out of ideas on what to do with them now; I want them out!
@EliseRoseCrochet2 жыл бұрын
I would look into places to donate them. There are probably organizations looking for handmade shawls. I'm thinking of places that help with the elderly or maybe even Hospice. Hopefully doing a Google search will turn up something. 🧶🧶🧶
