Some builders damp out truss rod rattling by wrapping the entire length of the rod with tape before installation. It works well for me. Great video. I really enjoy watching methods other builders use, it helps me a lot with my cramped and under-equipped workshop. This was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!

Wow - straight back on it! You're a machine Neil - you make me feel a bit lazy ... And where would we be without The Electric Herald! It will be interesting to know how heavy the finished guitar is without any weight relief.

I like how you incorporated the top join and attaching it to the body into a single step.

It's partly because the back is a one piece and partly because the idea crossed my mind lol

You are the rolling stone of guitar building… never letting moss grow under your workbench before launching into a new project. Brilliant! P90’s or humbuckers?

Humbuckers, nice bright ones. P90 are on the list though for a future build.

About that bass truss rod rattle, just give it a little tension. Even if the rod is loose side to side it shouldn't rattle if it's got tension on it.
@nsjguitarsakascotsman698918 күн бұрын
It has tension but still rattles, I'm going to drill a fret marker out, stick on a dowel to push against the rod then redo the fret marker. It's fine until you hit certain notes then it hums lol

All right! A Les Paul by NSJ! This is going to be really interesting. That ash and mahogany- this may be about 12lbs. Any belly carving or classic style?

It'll be about a regular les paul weight, maple isn't light lol Aa for the rest you'll have to wait and see lol

The bass is rattling? Can you send me a video or audio of the rattle/vibration buddy please. Had a Charvelle Bass back in the day. Turned out to be the bodies rear neck plate wasn’t quite flush sitting as the body wasn’t quite flat enough in around a thousandth out after I’d sanded and lawyered it.

It's the truss rod 100%, knew it was a possibility when I was building it. Think I said it in a vid. Rod was a bit of a loose fit. Be an easy fix though
