Wow, the comments are surprisingly depressing on this video.. I had a long distance relationship with my girlfriend. We waited for each other a year and the distance between us was 8000km. It was really hard, but our relationship became stronger - however, I wouldn't do it again, because it just drains your energy. After that year, I moved to the country she moved to the year before and we've been living together ever since. My advice: If you're in a long distance relationship, always remember this; it's like taking a leap of faith and nothing can prepare you for the experience. You have to communicate a lot with each other, talk about your fears, explain the smallest details of things you're up to, have patience and just trust each other..

I had a long distance relationship that felt awful similar to the one shown in the video (nobody cheated, but the insidious disappearance of love was just the same). The best thing you can do is try to break up on good terms. It hurts initially but in the end it becomes so much better. Living your life missing someone and being on your phone as opposed to in the moment never appealed to me. Just know that if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

Hi, how did it go in the end? 3 years further, are you any closer to telling your parents you are who you are and if they love you, they will accept you in the end? I do hope so. If not yet, I wish you strength :) Many parents do come around after some time. Not all. But even many that seem really upset at first come around when they realise they cannot change you. My aunt met her partner online. Canada/Bangkok. They communicated for months. After 6 months her partner came to visit her. She stayed for a couple of weeks. A month later, my aunt moved to Canada. They got married, and have now been together for 10 years! They even have a scrapbook of their love journey. Literally goals. That gives me so much hope. I myself am in an LDR, but tbh, it's even harder when you're still young. There's the control of the parents, money, etc. but I think it depends on both of you and how willing you are. If there's a will, there's a way. I would literally move mountains and oceans just to see my gf, but then again, we've only been together for 4 months. No rush. It may take time: time to build your relationship, and time to prepare, but if you love each other, it's worth it. =)Best wishes to you all. ^.^

I know this all too well. Me and me gf lived on opposite coasts of the United States. She was in California (where I'm from) and I was stationed in Washington DC at the time. We were long distance for a year. Constantly texting, FaceTime every night. I got to see her 3 different times throughout that year. Tearful goodbyes every single time we parted. I was lucky enough to get stationed back in San Diego so now we've been living together. My advice to anyone in a ldr; don't give up, communicate, always try to set a date to when you're gonna see each other next. Just don't wait for nothing. It really is worth it in the end and it makes you a much stronger couple if you get through it.

Not all LDR are like this. I have been with my gf for what is going to be three years in May 2017. She's in Florida, US and I'm in Sydney, Australia which is probably one the most furthest locations you can get. We are very much so in love with each other and we always talk about the day when the distance won't matter. We'll be in the same bed and wake up together. We'll be able to have our own children and make sure to raise them to not be hateful and that they're loved unconditionally. We just want to grow old together and create wonderful memories. It is going to take a little time to be able to be with her but I won't give up until we're together and she's in my arms. I just hope others won't give up on their LDR.

I lived in Colorado my whole life. In 7th grade I met my best friend. We were both relationships so I never noticed him. I moved to Texas in july of 2016. Both of our relationships ended with those people and we started talking more about our life and ourselves. Got to know eachother and ultimatly fell deeply in love. oh my god! way to make me cry! I'm in a long distance scotland to melbourne, aus/frankfurt, germany and have been for 5 months. my girlfriend just got home to germany after spending 4 months in melbourne. Today she had surgery and it hurt so much that i couldn't be there, i don't even know if she's okay. This has been a difficult day, and it's hard not to somehow wish it wasn't this way. Sometimes i feel like what's the point but then i realise, she is the point. she's so worth it. I am so completely in love her. I loved this. only 7 days and 9 hours until i see her face again!!

This is somewhat relatable for me. My first girlfriend lived about 4 hours from me, which is nothing compared to most long distance relationships, but we only met a few times. We never got to spend more than half a day together. She eventually stopped talking to me. Turns out she was sleeping with another girl and they are now married.

I have a girlfriend. We've been together for 6 months and 13 days. I know I'm kind of lucky because I can meet her more than just once a year. I know I am lucky because she's only 1h30 away from me. I also know that I shouldn't complain. But I fucking know how it feels. Everytime we meet, we feel so happy, and complete. And everytime I have to leave her, I feel like leaving a piece of me with her. Everytime she leaves if feel like my heart is breaking. And it gets worse with time. The first week is okay, the second is good, but when it becomes a month or more, we just can't take it. We just start fighting for nothing, I get insanely jealous, she can't even sleep, and we're both talking coldly, until me can meet again. But everytime I can see her, I know, deep in my heart, thatt's worth it. She's worth it.

Don’t worry if people dislike you, you’ll eventually find the right people who can see past a piece of clothing and the stereotypes and be friends with you for you! I'm glad there are so many lesbian couples out there that are even happy and in a stable relationship at least.
