Y’all need to understand, this is just homophobia and misogyny. When men suggest or get off to p0rn of “turning lesbians out”, they’re actively perpetuating and normalizing the idea that homosexuality isn’t innate and can be changed so easily. This is similar to conversion therapy, except it’s a kink and a lot of men get off to it, this isn’t normal or healthy behavior. A lesbian is a female homosexual, the only people who can be lesbians are female born people who are exclusively sexually attracted to other female people, doesn’t matter how they self identify. This issue is rampant in South Africa where “corrective” rape is a common form of abuse and control that men subject lesbians to, this issue is so horrific and normalized in many places. I see some comments of ppl suggesting that some male people can be lesbians if they’re trans identified, and I’m just gonna say that’s silly. Again, a female homosexual is a lesbian, it’s insane to suggest a man can be a lesbian. I wanna emphasize that even if someone is born female but “identities” as a man and they’re still same sex attracted, they’re still lesbian, the self proclaimed identity doesn’t trump their innate sexuality.

heya there are parts of this comment that are actually almost certainly transphobic. You're on a slippery slope here. Are you a TERF? with that last sentence you say, i think there would be many trans men who would call you a transphobe for that comment honestly. You do not speak for me or any trans inclusive lesbian communities. and you should crawl back to your gender critical hole. Who are you to tell anyone what they are or arnt able to be, based on what you presume they were born as. Im not saying literal dudes can be lesbian. But the fact that you'd probably never consider me as anything other than a "trans identified male" is transphobic. Also really disappointing that this comment is the pinned one by the channel creator because this is not ok!

Trans men are NOT lesbians, you're now perpetrating transphobia, so you're no better. It's misogynistic to force labels onto people just because they were born with certain body parts we as a society deem "feminine". Perhaps you should unpack your need to compare heterosexual trans men with masculine lesbians, because they are two complete different parts of queerness.

I have heard several times growing up that the word “lesbian” was just a corn category, including from my own mom. The word is very tainted, and as someone who has experienced mostly the not good side of smexual things, I want to be as least sexualized as I can be just personally. I know some people take on the title “lesbian” proudly, but it is hard for others because of this and that is ok. Also it may be an unpopular take, but I actually really appreciate people censoring words like “corn” because I think it takes the power away from them. Some words hold a lot of negative power over a lot of people, so it can be a positive thing to censor them and hold them in an observational light during discussions. I don’t think you necessarily have to interchange those words everywhere, but having educational safe spaces online can empower a lot of people.

Historically, lesbian representation in media has faced significant challenges. For many years, happy endings for lesbian characters were rare, often due to censorship or societal pressures. Even today, there's a concerning trend of lesbian-themed shows being cancelled or altered if they portray happy, functional relationships. While various factors contribute to this issue, it's important to acknowledge the role that internalized homophobia, even within the LGBTQ+ community, can play in perpetuating negative stereotypes. One common trope is the portrayal of lesbians as perpetually unhappy or traumatized. While such representation can resonate with some who have experienced hardship, it's crucial to recognize that this limited portrayal reinforces harmful stereotypes and can hinder broader societal acceptance. It's essential to advocate for diverse and nuanced representations of lesbians in media, showcasing the full spectrum of their experiences, including joy, love, and success.

So that’s a myth about too much struggle and it forced marginalized artists to feel compelled to cater to idealism rather than create art that offers them commentary and catharsis. There is room for it all. But lesbian women will not stop to make other people more comfortable(often white lesbians) And it feels like you are trying to educate her in this comment like she wouldn’t already know all this and probably because your media is what’s relevant to you, but central to you more importantly. Kind of condescending and off putting. But you won’t be my censor as an artist. You make it. And get out of our faces. No one will stop you. You’ll be embraced even, if it’s good! But until then, you get what you get

You put so much effort into these videos and it shows! I really appreciate the amount of research that is behind this video, and your personal experience added another layer of insight on it. And as a lesbian myself, I'm so excited to see your movie!! Although I'm white, it still bothers me how queer representation in general is so centered around white people, like you said in the video we come in many shapes and forms and i just can't see how that is portrayed in the film!

OUUUU, I’m really enjoying this discussion! I've had experiences where only fems have wanted to date me because I’m the taller fem, but then they try to masculinize me. I always make it clear that I’m not comfortable with that because I identify as a fem or sapphic. When they start referring to me as "their man," I know it's time to end things.

Thank you for such a well-made and broad video! The part about the work within the community definitely hit. I don't wanna put the whole blame on the queer community, but I've definitely experienced lesbophobia from fellow queer people as well....shows that there's still a long way to go, but I don't think these people meant to be harmful. Unfortunately, lesbophobia is very insidious.

One theory ive had is that men aren't that much into lesbian porn, it's more about controlling homosexuality in a time where women were just starting getting in control of their sexuality and just flat out rejecting men. I would argue a lot of men who likes trans porn today would be the same people who would have also been really into lesbian stuff back in the 80s-90s because ultimately its about control

To this day, women are still considered a thriving market sector so by resonance, lesbians are necessarily too. And it must be admitted that some women take a malicious pleasure in playing the game, if only for money. It is for this reason that separatism seems to me to be necessary from now on. There will never be true freedom without a clear and definitive separation !

Going thru the vid- personally I think the generational trauma of sex hits every side extremely hard. Coming from a man (alter) i think a part of the extreme lesbianism sexualization feel very.... projection heavy? Historically and otherwise: while in the military, while in school, while at work- men have a long history of being surrounded by other men. If you spend all day kind-of-but-not-allowed-to think your buddy is kinda hot, you might try to drown the internal homosexual feelings with the sex your are "supposed" to like, aka women. But they are also in a homosexual encounter, showing only women involved in a sexual encounter can reinforce the gender roles-- women can have fun, men go to work and make money and be miserable. Growing up imagine how many times youve heard boys calling other boys "gay" for any amount of feminity. Yet girls can easily confuse romantic love with friendship and extremely close relationships are seen as "just girls being girls". Im jealous, everytime i talk to someone I MUST be trying to creep on them, women or men or otherwise. It messes with your head man.

If im taught that my feminity=homosexuality, then lesbian corn just makes sense as a fantasy, a not-real place that scratches a part of your brain not allowed within the "real life"

If I’m getting what you’re saying, you’re pointing out how society’s rules around gender and sexuality can really mess with people’s heads, especially men. You’re saying that men, especially when surrounded by other men, often have to hide any feelings that don’t fit the norm and act super into women just to prove themselves. and this keeps up these strict roles where men can’t show vulnerability. Meanwhile, women get to have close, emotional friendships without judgment?. and you mentioned how hard it is for you because when you try to connect with people, you’re seen as being creepy, which just adds to feeling alone and confused. Did I understand you correctly?
@freepeltiple2
@freepeltiple2 5 күн бұрын
@@jewelamina i believe so! I mean, most human emotions are "outside the norm" for whats expected of men from the patriarchy. Not just feelings of queerness, but basic emotions like sadness, or anger are taught to be exaggerated, or repressed. I shouldnt have spoken on other relationships I dont know about, its just what ive seen from the sidelines, my apologies genuinely. Maybe its my trauma talking, ive never had a close platonic friendships. A part of it has been bc people would make comments and assume, and it gets internalized and uncomfortable in my own skin. I am sorry to rant here in your comment section 💀 I appreciate you taking the time, and the care that is in your response. 🙏

awww. i can see where you’re coming from, and it sounds like you’re carrying a lot of weight around these ideas of connection and how people are perceived. it must be exhausting to always feel like you have to defend your intentions or deal with being misunderstood. I’m glad you shared this with me, and I hope you know you’re not alone in feeling that way. How do you think we can start breaking down some of those barriers, so everyone can feel more free to connect without judgment?
@freepeltiple2
@freepeltiple2 5 күн бұрын
@@jewelamina I think that judgement is still important in any connection, equally important is to know what you are judging- the person or the systems that cultivated their personhood? In a metaphorical sense, I dont think the barriers of judgement should be broken (yet!) but more of gone right through. (Something agreed and vunerable). If theres not a connecting point to go through, then we could go around. But I believe the barriers are set up in such a way that is generational trauma at work- trauma around finding a next meal, trauma around hunting for said meal, trauma around uncontrollable temperatures, trauma around access to knowledge (and resources) of tools and tech, etcetc. Breaking the barriers I think would only raise up others that are hidden to us, until later. Im glad to have had an invitation to respond, fighting through urges to remain unseen has been difficult. Thank you for your question, and taking the time and care into your responses. I appreciate it, and am wishing you and anyone reading the best. anything that 'the best' means to you 🫶
